My daughter is an aircraft controller in the Royal Navy and gives the pilots information when landing on a ship

no beartrap leading into the hangar. As a Canadian that looked a little strange. I am used to see the lines running towards the hangar. Great footage though. That is such a beautiful but sinister looking ship.

No FDO?

Where were the air crewmen guiding them on ?

Pilot seems know what he's doing. Put the kettle on, let him get on with it, and have a cup of tea ready for him when he gets out. Lovely.

There is a FDO (Flight Deck Officers) shack to the right hand side, it has a window that they watch from. This is safer this way as the less people on deck the safer it is in case of an accident. The pilots train for this day in day out in a simulator so they don't require marshalling on as this is a single spot, there is only one place to land.

Is that the way you are supposed to go about it? Not just approaching from the rear? Seems odd
@Freemusicwoohoo3 жыл бұрын
Yes they always approach portside then move acrossdeck to land.
