@@theregulararkandsonicfan5005 (I’m trying to limit the spoilers bc this is a blind reaction series.) The Answer gives so much backstory for one of the more mysterious Crystal Gems. I personally find the story very sweet, and very fascinating when you look at it from a fresh light when… big stuff is revealed later in the series. Anyway it also stars my OTP, and I’ll never say no to an episode that focuses on them lol.

Fun fact pearls are often considered a gemstone, although it is not a mineral because pearls are organic along with amber, jet, coral ammolite and ivory.

You forgot Aragonite which is the base Mineral in the make up. Also Jet is a mineral as well. It's made up of both organic and minerals, hence why it is a gemstone.

We're getting more information about Gem society, and by Peridot's account shows that Homeworld culture is almost literally stratified. Amethyst is supposed to be like Jasper, Rose Quartz or the Gem warrior in Pearl's flashback: BIG. I feel like Peridot's wording saying she felt 'small' or 'big' might be related to the fact that she felt powerful and more complete with her arms and legs extentions. She is probably defective since she is small just like she explained to Amethyst, so she felt fixed with the additions to make her look 'normal', but when she lost them she felt small and wrong and she can relate those to bad feelings. It's clear that gems know very little about how 'feelings' work, but they are able to learn and relate since they're smart, and Peridot learned in a fairly fast pace. I just love very much the last part of the chapter of Steven asking her how does she feel and she says she feels big
