1.- Define the key of the song. 2.- Build the chords to that key and make melodies on key and 80% in the chords, 3.- play the harmony, make rythms with the harmony (chord progressions) and then try rythms with the melody. Make sure they work together... .4.- A melody with questions and answer is always nice. 5.- Once you have the rythm, you can double and continue the melody and change the notes and it will sound good as long as you keep the rythm. And the most important thing : Learn Music theory. The best place to learn music theory and put it in practice is hooktheory.com

I don't get what you mean by "make melodies 80% in the chords"

@@wildcrowmusic When you make a melody you have to choose notes that are in the same chord that is playing at the same moment. If you do that you are always 100% safe and it always sounds good. Because chords and melodies match perfect.Notes are taken from notes of the chord, so no disonances . But you can make exceptions and also play notes that are not in the chord. I super strongly recommend everybody to go deep in this and other concepts of music making in Hooktheory. com..and Hookpad. Everything explained there and there you can practice with a super fantastic interactive and colorful tool they have builded.. Is a super fantastic website to learn music theory and song writing. I am a profesional student and have donde 100s of courses of all type, follow more than 1.500 youtubers about music, and study and practice music 20 hours a day.. I know what i am talking about. ... This website is a must !!!!!!. Best of the best to learn songwriting. 100% recomendable. Cheap and super effective.

Just make sure kick and sub bass are in mono and then the rest is just opening the song, for example midbass can be wider, leads wider than the midbass, claps wider than the rides, etc
