Love the video! I just started using this trick instead of always slapping a kickstart on it and I have the feeling this makes your sound a lot cleaner! I also use the Neutron 3 EQ to find out which frequencies are masking and then put some peak controllers on some elements. It really help to get it clean before mastering!

Wildcrow exactly! Using your ears to hear what’s clashing is great, but something it’s hard to hear so using Neutron is the solution!

Don't cut everything beyond 100Hz or else your subbass will lose it's low end, even if it's meant to cover the low frequency region, you should cut only everything beyond 250Hz and that enough, so even a high cut at 250Hz will still tighten up your low end, since you only need to remove the low mid and high frequencies from the subbass.

But think that you need to sidechain, not only use a compressor in the low end. Also peak controller uses less cpu
