The goat as already had a venomous bite from the komodo. The saliva takes hours to maybe a few days to take affect. The komodo is very patient & waits for semi paralysis to take place then moves in for the kill. The goat is effectively to fucked to run.

There is another video where a dog approaches a sleeping tiger and barks at it, and is then killed in about 2 seconds.
