Great video. Just to clarify, HPG is owned by my brother, Evan and I, and Evan is the primary designer. First Spear is our manufacturing partner.

Love love love this stuff Chuck, there isn't enough written about it. All I can find besides you and Nutnfancy on hiking stuff is dreadlocked ultralight thru-hiking hemp sweater wearing Hillary voters. I really dug what you said about electrolyte pills instead of Gatorade chews because of the risk of vomiting. I will carry both as if I am feeling okay then the Gatorade flavor will boost morale too. You really made me want to carry one of these to add more capability to my hiking load, thanks man. Don't stop!

The HPG kit bags are just good kit, plain and simple. Hiking, hunting, etc. it makes it easy to keep essential gear on your person but keeps the bulk out of your pockets. Good video, made me re-evaluate my kit bag that I take hiking as a result.

I like your style and your philosophy. Experience only really helps when you can proactively evaluate your setup and adjust what works and doesn't. You seem to have applied that well and continue to update yourself and your setups. I found you through the Primary and Secondary podcast from forever ago that Garand Thumb was on and really liked your brutally honest approach. Its very entertaining when you strip ignorance down to its drawers with words. XD Love it dude, i'm subscribed and can't wait to see what the future is for you and the channel.

Big Dog, get a solar juice pack. Got one off of Amazon and I clip it to the outside of my pack. I hunt in deep country and that is a must for my tech gear fuel.

I have a clip on panel for when I carry an actual pack or backpack style hydration system. This rig is my walk around the camp, take short hikes away from the truck loadout.

I love mine. I actually wish all 4 connection points had fastex buckles to completely remove the straps and back piece. It then could be used as a "man purse" with just a shoulder strap.

Some guys modify it that way. They actually use the First Spear Tubes on all the straps, which is pretty cool. We don't sell it that way to keep the price down for folks.

Awesome stuff man. Not sure if you have one for your truck but I would recommend grabbing one of the mini portable jump starters from Walmart or wherever else. They are small, can jump the vehicle multiple times, has phone charging capability and a flashlight on the end of it. I think it was like $120-150 but it is worth having for whatever freak instance your truck battery drains out on you.

What’s a good set of binoculars? If your bleeding hasn’t stopped after 8 hours of occlusion and pressure, you’re in trouble. Btw if you carry hemostats, you gotta rinse that out after 2 days. Thanks for sharing.

Great video. What brand battery packs are you using? I’ve heard that the Fenix series watches have a low draw so won’t charge from some battery banks as they think that the watch has a full charge. Thanks

How are you communicating with first responders if you are in need of rescue? Specifically with the Kenwood. Is the purpose to communicate with anyone, or some dispatch center? Do you have frequencies pre programmed in the area of operation? Why not just drop a pin and send a text alert via the Garmin? Can you share you packing list for hiking and urban bags? I mainly do 14ers and the added weight you're carrying seems like a lot. I'm deferring to your expertise though. Thanks.
@novaprospekt1739
@novaprospekt1739 4 жыл бұрын
The Kenwood TH-D74A Chuck's carrying operates on 3 different vhf-uhf amateur radio frequencies, amateur radio repeaters cover just about the entire continental US, so odds are that you'll be able to contact someone who can then contact emergency services on your behalf. Having the cell-phone and satellite communicator(Garmin) gives you 3-different modes of contacting the outside world. You don't necessarily have to contact emergency services directly, as long as you can contact someone who can contact emergency services on your behalf.
