I have it right now, and I am miserable. I think I got it from eating a salad at a restaurant. I took tinizadole, and it didn't work. Now I'm taking Nitazoxanide. It makes my diarrhea worse after two doses. I hope that lets up.

I have Giardia now, the Dr. prescribed Flagyl, I took for a week and it seemed like it worked but about 4 weeks later the Giardia came back, Flagyl didnt get rid of it. This is so frustrating.

Can you get symptoms much later? I went on a month long trip to Ecuador this past June, but not until about 2 months ago have I been experiencing all the symptoms (and more) that you mentioned.

I could not take any of those harmful chemical drugs or salycilates. But there is colloidal silver and Lugol's iodine and other natural remedies. And clean water for prevention. Tap water in the USA is often infested. A distiller is a good idea!!

Wilderness Medicine: Giardia............. right, title not good, wilderness medecine, all you talk is antibiotics that you buy at the pharmacy lol, good thing I check it, so if I get sick I have to go to the hospital ??? if your in the woods 200 miles from one, your done :)
