those little erasers are pretty nice. haven't used them before. as for the baking soda and vinegar, i've never seen it work. just soak the blade in vinegar if you want to remove rust. any decent acid will do the trick, just be careful how long you leave it in. stronger acids will eat the metal pretty quick but that means less soak time so that's nice. be wary of flash rust afterward because the metal will be completely bare after that. i only use that method when there are pits and such that make it hard to get the rust out. i blue my blades right after the acid wash to keep them from rusting again. i also give my blades a wipe with an oil rag in a can after i clean them before i put them away.

I shall continue to use the edging I have until it dissolves. Unlike some, who just throw it away, so it goes into landfill. Mentioning no names...

@@WildernessTamed 🤣 I haven’t actually managed to throw any away to landfill yet - I keep hanging on to it in the hope that one day I will find a suitable upcycling project. I may weave myself a plastic yurt.

Little thing you can do to avoid gumming up your blade as you mow is to ad a little bit of soap with the water of your wethstones. Mechanics soap is the best and i mean a tiny bit. Ussualy I add a finger tip in 5l of water

Also as a blade gaurd i just use a piece of firehose where i stick my blade in. Ag the heeel i punch a hole in the hose and run a piece of thin rope through and tie that on my tanc to keep it on.
