Wildfires Continue to Rage, Evacuations Mount in Bay Area

Fires continue to grow across the Bay Area, with two of them being some of the largest blazes recorded in California’s history. The LNU Lightning Complex Fire is the second-largest recorded fire in history, while the SCU Lightning Complex Fire is the third-largest.

OMG thank God for the Firemen they do their job without discrimination... I don't understand why people don't leave when warnings are issued, why they go back to see if their homes are still intact, and the worse of all and I've no sympathy for freaking looters, they don't understand that time is the essence, and costly, they should be charged with life time, looters are unacceptable anywhere in the world.

@@anniepibbles443 firefighters work in shifts. they are at the airport to debrief and resupply and rest. this fire is covering a massive area. i know all this area. i did line clearance tree work up there. this is seriously thick forest that is not allowed to be maintained because you might step on a precious banana slug or 3 toed salamander

If I had a house I think I could defend from the fire and was told to leave and didn't I would expect no further help to rescue me. And police and fire crews should do their jobs else where unless they are in my area already saving other homes. It is my fault if I die and not theirs any longer. Thank you.

A journalist needs to ask why Scotts Valley was evacuated. There is only two ridges the fire could jump and they are not, nor have they ever been, in the path of the fires. Those ridges are Highway 9 and the fire would have to jump to behind Skypark and the other is Glenwood to the north, when the fire has always been growing to the south. We have hundreds of elderly persons who could not evacuate and the PD is not letting them leave and come back to get food or medicine.
