130 MILES - A Week of Fly Fishing & Bikepacking in Idaho

Just a few weeks ago, I didn’t even own a bike. But here we were, climbing up an old service road in the middle of nowhere Idaho and I was starting to feel the reality of my inexperience. We were here to fish, but truthfully it was hard to even think about fishing with what was ahead of us. We were deep in bear country with no cell service, no support vehicle, and no option of turning around. It was just us, our bikes, and hopefully everything we needed to survive for the next six days.

Bikepacking is truly one of the best ways to get to new and remote fly fishing spots. Maine is a great state for this, with lots of gravel and logging roads you can fish so many different waterbodies each day. Love the video, keep the bikepacking adventures going.

Lived and fished in Idaho for more than 30 years. Some of my most memorable experiences were hiking into alpine lakes. I never even considered using a mountain bike and the fact you guys were able to push and pull your way up those trails, utterly amazing.
