I'll be 75 soon after the season opens and I've still got my Solway Zipper bought in the 1986. I believe it came from the last batch made. I sent it back to Barbour five years ago for repairs to the lining, a couple of small tares and to replace one missing belt loop. It didn't leak but I thought a re-wax wouldn't hurt. Barbour had it for a few months and when returned it was as good as new. I still use walking the dog etc though not as much on the marsh as it can be a bit stiff in cold weather. It's been great value for money. For the past ten years or so I mainly use a Jack Pike modernish camo jacket over a few layers. dead light and flexible just needs reproofing now and then.

Ive got a deerhunter mallard jacket and love it! I wear it lot whilst out flighting floods and ponds, only tend to go on wet and windy nights, not let me down yet, and the cartridge pockets are awesome, they pop out for easy and quick access 👍🏻

Wow that riverwest must the only in the world thats not got a broken zip😂. Beingba flat out wildfowler i use a keela belay, absolutely bomb proof. Drys quick, easy to clean, warm but not to warm. Like you say better to layer up than wear a heavy coat.

Zips seem to be a failure point on so many jackets. Not seen Keela before looks nice gear.

I wear an old Austrian M65 Army jacket and I love it. Perfect weight, dries well and pockets are great. Only downside is it’s not fully waterproof (should be though!) so I got a ridgeline monsoon smock for heavy rain. I do find that too hot and it takes days to dry! Looking for a lighter weight fully waterproof so might check out the fishing jacket style ones for wearing with my waders. Interesting video 👍🏼

I like the fishing jacket I have. It is a lot lighter than the Rivers west Jacket. And usually wear it when the weather is bad.

I've got a mad dog parka.had it for years totally waterproof.real tree camo.plenty of pockets only Downside is it's for a coat very heavy.was toy ING with the idea of getting a full length carp fishing parka so I don't need to carry a camo net onto the marsh.but at 74 just an idea. maybe.watching you on KZbin you look a contented man.

Good idea there is some good fishing gear about. Don't be mistaken I'm like a swan calm on the surface and paddling like crazy below the water line. 😂😂😂😂

Have you tried stockman waterproofs? They are like waterproof dungerees. Another question: Have you done a vid on how to stitch the sheaths you make? Keep well 🙂

I haven't seen stockman, but I have just got myself the Hoggs of Fife set. I haven't tried dungarees out on the marsh yet. I don't think I have done one on stitching a sheath, but I can do.
