I've had a great experience so far in my first Wildlander play through! I started as a Dark Elf in Windhelm, and stayed there + around Kynesgrove until somewhere around level 11-13. I explored a bit around the area and did lots of alchemy, which helped with gaining levels/perks + money. A few times I had people who were just randomly "dead" in the Grey Quarter, maybe from the vampire fights that occasionally occurred, but I roleplayed as if some of the people killed were murdered by the mysterious serial killer stalking the streets of Windhelm. Roleplaying a character that is comfortable with breaking the law is a huge plus too! I still remember the first strong box I broke into, I was expecting to find 50 gold and a roll of paper, but I found 500 gold and a few flawless gems -- and the Outlaw's Refuge + the fence found within did wonders for the roleplay. By the time I left Windhelm, I had two horses (adopted one, the original owner lost a fight to an ice wraith), +10k in gold (+20k total through the playthrough at that point), full elven armor, and everything else I felt I might need to survive the wilds. I went and took care of Grelod the Kind, and I'm now a member of the Dark Brotherhood on my way to complete my first task from Astrid. There's definitely a learning curve, especially since I exclusively played console until recently, but it's been the most rewarding experience I've had in Skyrim so far! I didn't have to sell a single piece of wood lol.

Just got my first gaming PC and finished the set up over the weekend. As one who had every achievement on console, many many many different playthrough before modding was a thing on console. This has been the best thing ever. I followed the original plan before it was even called wildlander watching Dylan's playthrough's, it's surreal. Such a great modpack

All around great tips, speechcrafting NPCs and guards to follow you is super useful, and alchemy is OP of course too, it can be challenging for newcomers to the list but I hope this helps people out!

Thank you! As someone who never used Requiem prior to WL - It has a steep learning curve 😅

@@Its-SKs What people should realize is Wildlander is actually much easier than a lot of Requiem lists because it gives you so many tools to improve yourself outside just combat

I recently started my first playthrough on Wildlander and I'm currently reconsidering my build since I forgot most endgame bosses are totally impossible to Sneak around. I did find one tip for the early game - if you put 2 perk points into Alchemy early you can discover all four properties of any ingredient right off the bat. In a town like Whiterun or Solitude this makes it pretty easy to harvest a bunch of ingredients like flowers and make enough potions to completely juice the Alchemy vendors. Once you have too many potions to sell to a vendor you can just clickthrough and buy the entire inventory of ingradients off the vendors themselves. With enough potions to sell this basically just pays for itself since the limiting factor is how much gold the vendors have. With enough money to take the carriage between towns you can be set up quite nicely with whatever you can purchase and your first few levels without every really leaving a town.

This is definitely one of the broken systems 😅. From what I understand, this really messes with the economy, just a heads up.

@@Its-SKs I think the problem for me is I don't have enough discipline not to shamelessly abuse something the game "allows" me to do. I've made some changes in the MCM - turned off experience from dummies and targets, and completely nerfed the trade settings. Now the only thing I've noticed is I can use the skyforge to craft / breakdown silver necklaces repeatedly for absurd amounts of experience - I think I'm at around 50 Smithing and level 6 just from the silver I found lying around Jorrvaskr. Not sure how to turn that off without just disallowing breakdown of materials (I think that's somewhere in the MCM). But if I do that I'm not sure how I do much early game crafting at all since buying materials from vendors is completely off the table.

As a melee focused axe and shield character early game was hard But marcurio is my best mate😂 I went into alchemy because of my role play I'm playing a van helsing type character (the one from the 2004 movie) so light crossbow Also training dummies help sooo much as well paying for training I went nord because.... I only ever play a nord or an orc But early game was insanely difficult I remember my first troll.... That somehow turned into 2 trolls I have no shame ins saying console commands were used and huges amounts of xp was gained

Winterhold is also a bad starting area. I went mage, and naturally wanted to jump start my apprenticeship. But with the removal of Immersive College of Winterhold, there's no class system taking place (the lectures don't seem to grand XP). And while there are some benefits there for fast leveling magic (for sure), the huge lack of a smithy/forge is a major bad starting out.

Currently playing a mage and if you go behind the first building on the right when leaving the college, there is a small shed with an anvil and forge (and other misc tables) inside and a smelter outside

@@shiguy2877 Yeah, I found it. Not perfect, given you have to leave the College while in absolutely killing weather, but it's workable. near there there's also a pool of water with a weird statue in it, so you can set up a camp at the foot of the College Bridge.

I've never played wildlander but your guides make me want to, I'm going to get into it next update! Could you make guides for all the immersives misc things we can do in wildlander .For exemple, I've heard that you can tell the guards that someone is attacking you and have them defend you like that...like a speech master x)

Its surreal how things go from one extreme to another in just a few years. Ultimate Skyrim was 10x harder than Wildlander hehe. Wildlander is honestly far too easy if you abuse the mechanisms, however I do prefer the added versatility this allows in terms of adopting a more RP approach to character development instead of min-maxing everything.

Harder =/ Better. At points it was just unfun hard, whilst Wildlander is very fun hard. And, it's not the main focus here anyway.
