I have to admit that I’m still quite fresh to wildlife like this. I used hides before or sometimes put out some drops of honey to see who comes around. If I had a choice I would prefer doing it like this all the time. Wildlife photography without baiting might be the most natural thing, but I think there is always an impact. I maybe wanted to make a video about that topic to be honest. Thank you for the kind words, Sushant, I really try to get some more atmosphere into the videos!

Peter Haken thank you, Peter :) It’s sometimes a bit annoying to get it all together with just one real video camera, but it’s really fun in the end. I hope you find some, I will post some more soon about it hopefully :)

I’ve just started thinking about video, so much more to think about, don’t even get me started on what more gear is needed. A very steep learning curve for sure. Though you will see from my couple of short films I’m not confident in talking to camera yet... in time.

I knew that I was always interested since I started cutting videos in 2015 of trips and such, but I didn't really know much about settings and fps. I think those things are easily learned these days and really fast, but there is always more. When photos bore me off a bit, video brought the passion back, and then it started to jump between the two. That really makes it such a good interest, it rarely burns out. Being alone with a camera and acting normal is not really that easy, I still have my issues with it, but over the last couple of weeks I just do it nearly 2 of 3 days. Not everything goes online, but it makes it more and more normal. You will get there!

Liked your video Gunnar. You made us feel Spring in it. Pretty cool. Really liked the little Nuthatches. I have a couple around my place, but can’t ever seem to find their nest. Congrats on setting up your camera trap and finding the badgers and fox. Pretty exciting when a plan actually works.🙂. Hopefully this will result in getting some great images of them. Another thing I’ve come to enjoy this time of year, is finding and photographing wild emerging mountain flowers. The ones around here are really tiny and one has to look close to find them, but also pretty exciting when you do find one. Take care now and keep making these videos. Terry Roth hey Terry, good to hear from you! Considering that you watch my videos for some time that compliment is really one of the best ones I can get. So thank you ever so much! I’m learning a lot and work with the new camera made the video side so much easier! I enjoyed making a small story out of the nuthatches and if I can I will try to get a bit more documentary in the future. I hope it works well for you. I just have to say that the backpack seems a bit small a lot of times, I have too much stuff already. What lens are you using?

@@GunnarDresler Yeah, could be a little bigger. I face the same challenge when I try to bring food\water\filters\lenses...etc with me on a hike :D I use a 300mm F4 PF on my D500. I like that combo, even though on occasions I wish for a little more focal length. Currently I am thinking of maybe upgrading to a 300mm F2.8 and adding a TC 1.4 to it. Or a 500mm F4, but for that I have to sell one of my kidneys :D On the other hand the Z lens lineup is impressive, maybe I should wait for the Z telephoto lineup :)

Yeah, for that much stuff it becomes a bit tricky to get everything in. I often go for a normal backpack then and try to pack soft stuff around the equipment, but that kinda beats the purpose, right? I would be really interested in the coming Z lenses for weight reasons, I hope they can surprise us with something good and not the same stuff packed into a Z mount again :P Cheers!

@@tonymorrison6875 Honestly, I had a hard time arriving here in the south. The forest next to the house is a bit too wet for my taste and not much variation. The forest I found this spring is right around the corner and way more mixed and suddenly... I find all the animals (at least I know that they are there!). It really changed up for me this year, but I am pretty sure that everywhere there is a lot to find. I should also look out for sea birds, but me and the coast are no natural friends yet :D
