Chuck, it's amasing seeing how your techniques have developed over the years of watching you paint!!! Your commentary seems a lot more relaxed, too. It's like the more you explore methods of painting, the more relaxed you've become with it. The details are still very much present, but you've developed a more relaxed way of portraying them. Perfectly beautiful result, too!!!!!

Always appreciate it Mark!! I do feel more relaxed overtime I think that is true and I'm happy you take notice to the growth in my brushwork. That's sometime I constantly think about and work on. Thanks always!!

Beautiful representation of the animal and the background! Do you recommend smaller work for novices?
@chuckblackart3 жыл бұрын
Yes and no, it helps to become comfortable with your colors but once you are, moving to larger sizes can help provide a lot of valuable lessons and growth
@rachelboren60793 жыл бұрын
Chuck, your work is just utterly gorgeous. I have been watching you for awhile now and I've watched you transition from acrylic to acrylic with oil to complete oil painting. So, I am curious: what do you like best?? What do you recommend? I also am an artist and have been using acrylic for quite some time. As I have watched you evolve I have not only seen your growth but how confident you have become with painting in general. I suppose when you are confident and painting becomes more natural to you, oil is a better paint to use??? Please tell me your thougts!!
@chuckblackart3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rachel I appreciate it. I definitely have to say I prefer oils and although I love the path I took which got me here, experimenting with all other mediums in the past, oils is what I need to achieve what I'm after. It's tough and intimidating but there is only one way to learn. Over the years it eventually becomes natural to you, just takes patience! :)

Chuck love your work but I'm an acrylic painter. Can I transfer your tutorials to paint it with acrylics. I can't use oils...Moose are part of our culture...You're an amazing artist and teacher....
@chuckblackart3 жыл бұрын
I really think you can yes, but the only difference is you would most likely be painting wet over dry paint which is fine, but takes some extra patience and effort to get just right. The process I think is the same though
