That was really interesting. A lot of the time people think bigger paintings are harder to make than smaller ones, but you pointed out that with a lot of mediums like pastels or oil paints with brushes it's actually easier to make a bigger picture because then it's easier to make the details. That was a really great point you made.

You have answered some questions I had been thinking about this past week about animal fur. I had wondered if you did an underpainting first, which you did. Then the detail comes next. Absolutely awesome how your technique comes together so nicely! Thanks so much for sharing!!! I am working on a tiger on drafting film and it is the first time for me painting an animal on this substrate. Absolutely loving it! Can’t wait to try pastelmat soon. Love all your videos!

I searched "detail with pastel" and this video popped up first. Beautiful piece. I guess you could make this video three times. One for traditional chalk pastel, one for oil pastel, one for water soluble
