Hey Nath @wildreaches, I'm not sure what system you're in but I do know, my uncles on my father side (indigenous) talk about going camping at the Staaten River mouth when they were younger. Their mother, was originally from up the northern side of the cape, growing up on a few different islands and spending time in Mapoon and Bamaga. Ps thanks for helping me relive my childhood through your videos! I move back to FNQ at the end of this year with my partner so we can start a family, and I can't wait to show them the better way to live!

Well, Happy Birthday for a couple of days ago; I hope you find opportunity still to get out in our wonderful Australian landscape, fishing, relaxing and generally having a great time. I am nearing myself 60 this year, and along with my husband and family, love nothing better than going camping, kayaking, fishing and general exploring etc. Though these two young men take things to a whole new level (camping high in the trees in croc country lol) - still so very enjoyable to watch them, catching their food, and preparing it. We live in such a beautiful country, don't we? All the best best to you anyway!

What knots u use braid to leader?? When u casting i hear the nnot run throgh the eyes and its nasty noise. U use fg?
@WildReaches3 жыл бұрын
My go to for the last 10 years or more has been what I call a double Albright but I don’t think that’s actually right. It’s such a good knot. This trip I played around with the FG but wasn’t stoked with the tail… tiny eyelets on the rod I was using. Are you running the FG?
@kaizanatorcatchncook3 жыл бұрын
@@WildReaches get the fg down bro. Just sit and nail it and then ull.see it lay out perfict like a sexy plat. And then the pull is super important. Look up best and easy ways to do it. Another really really cool episode Nath! Nearly brought tears to my eyes seeing you leave the tree house, haha! However, another beautiful system you found yourself in! Simply breathtaking country. Shame about the nets, people gotta eat I guess and people need to make money, it is just sad it’s still allowed in such pristine areas! Those bar tails flattys are a good chew too, I agree with Dane on That! Thanks so much once again for bringing us along for the journey legend man! I just kick back and pretend I’m there! P.S. no harm at all in plugging the sponsors who support you mate!
@WildReaches3 жыл бұрын
I agree mate, it was tough leaving the nest. I also agree that the better have to make a living. We all have families to support and will do what it takes to support them. Those little flathead don’t seem to get any bigger than that up here, iv seen and caught maybe 10 in 12 years up here and never bigger than just legal. So stoked you’re enjoying it mate, that’s the idea, bringing everyone along for the ride.
