Great video, thanks for sharing! The CBSA officer was quite pleasant but he did ask very directly about the three things Canadian authorities really care about: alcohol, tobacco and firearms. The officer asking about the guns and when they were last in the RV was him making a determination whether he needed to send you to secondary or not. Canadian officials can be very friendly but they mean business when it comes to firearms.

2 approximate conversions. 1.) kilometers to miles: divide km in half, then add 10% of the first number. e.g. 100km ÷ 2 = 50 + 10% of 100 (10) = 60 miles -- actually it's 62 miles but close. 2.) Celsius to Fahrenheit: double C and add 30. e.g. 20° x 2 = 40 + 30 = 70³ F

I think it all depends on, what border crossing you use, where I live, we have three choices soon to be four, and you are treated different at each crossing, I think a lot of it has to do with what kind of day the border agent is having.

As a Canadian, I love watching border crossing videos. About 80% of the Canadian population lives within a two hour drive of the US border so we are more conditioned to crossing. I find that crossing into the US is easier than coming back into Canada. For us, the Canadian border officers are mostly concerned with collecting tax on alcohol. Only had border officers on either side of the border look in our RV once and he just opened the door and looked in. Didn’t actually step inside.

Make sure you stop at the Mount Robson Visitor Center to take in the views. If you visit Jasper after Banff is is on the way to Highway 97 or it is worth the short short trip from 97. The campground is very nice and only $28 CAD if you want to spend a day or two exploring the area. There are some nice hikes and waterfalls in the area. Wells Grey is also a nice stop. You can spend a day driving to then end of the park road then stopping along the way for a few amazing waterfall hikes. There are two very large ones. Canada does an amazing job with their provincial park system.

We had to wait to pull ahead when we got there yet there wasn’t anyone in sight! I said that he thought it would be a good time to go to the bathroom & of course someone shows up🤣. Worst experience was one time crossing from NY to Cornwall, Ontario and they decided to search the 5th wheel. Checking drawers they found a gun lock that we had gotten a rv rally and then had a terrible time convincing them that we did not have any guns in the rv. They searched every cupboard and storage area before finally letting us go. Have crossed many other times with no issues. Coming back from Alaska and crossing at Vancouver they checked the refrigerator.

Nice vid. You made it through!! One note on firearms....from the Canada site: Non-restricted firearms - most normal hunting rifles and shotguns fit into this category, and are allowed to be transported into Canada by an adult on a temporary basis for sporting or hunting use (including personal protection against wildlife in remote areas). Transporting firearms through Canada is not difficult if they fit this classification, as non-restricted guns can also be brought into the country by people who are driving through Canada to or from Alaska. Travelers who declare a non-restricted firearm, such as a US citizen going on a hunting trip with a shotgun, can sign an RCMP Non-Resident Firearms Declaration upon arrival at Canadian border.

We have a couple border crossings planned for next spring. One will be at a big crossing and on a tiny crossing like this one. Will be interesting to see the difference. 🐾🐾

It will be! I think I've decided I much prefer smaller border crossings, but the big one was a whole experience lol

Squawk box in the Navy refers to the intercom boxes around the ship for emergency communications. It's also known as a "b" box. I'll let you figure that out.

We stayed in site 140 (I originally thought it was 110) last summer at Ridgeview Resort. Beautiful place. Had the same issue at the same corner. And mine was a pull through but I had to back out. Have a look at that site.......No way I could have pulled through. If you have time I would make the trek to Lussier Hot springs. It's maybe 40 minutes south and then 15 miles up a logging road. Natural hot springs on the side of a river.

We did notice that some of the sites that were “pull through” didn’t look so pull through 😆 we were definitely one of the larger rigs there besides a few class As that I was impressed got into the sites!
