In the beginning of the documentary the observation was made that to help the elephants you also have to help the local subsistence farmers whose lives and livelihoods are being threatened by them . So what is being done to help the lady who's husband got killed by an elephant and now her kids have to drop out of school ?

Collect the elephant dung to give to the farmers as fertilizer in exchange of some of the crops for the wild and rescued elephants.

Elephants are afraid of bees. Farmer shoudl set up bee hives around their farms. Free pollinization and honey, plus elephant repellent.
