You know what is "scary"! You understand! I am born and raised a christian yet I feel, truely feel the love from Muslims! I have visited many Muslim countries and never once felt afraid, never once felt unwelcome. It is a "scary" religion ONLY because of the media! Thank you for being so honest, so true with your travels. Me, I am not a religious man, I find a lot of religion horrible, yet it is unspoken! Islam has an "inner peace" that must be experienced first hand, not read in the tabloids of hateful christian countries!

Welcome brother! You have made the right decision. Inshallah your family will accept your conversion to Islam soon. Unfortunately, the media distorts the truth of Islam, describes it with the ugliest descriptions, and promotes homosexuality and atheism as if it were a normal thing. Islam is a beautiful religion. Islam is the continuation of the rest of the religions. It believes in all the prophets and messengers. It believes that it is not possible for a human being to be the son of God, and that it is not possible for a human God gave him the sins of all human beings. What is his sin? The Bible and the Torah were distorted and some of the prophets were described with the most horrific things. They described Noah as a deviant. How could God create a prophet who was a deviant and then wanted people to follow him? If God creates a prophet, He will place him in the best form so that people will follow him Ask me if you have any questions about Islam ❤

Just to correct, eating food is not a crime punishable by law in Saudi Arabia or any other Islamic country. These are just rumors. There are many non-Muslims. Fasting is an Islamic obligation in order to feel what the poor suffer and be humble and more humane. Fasting also has health benefits.

So when you say talk about your country, I just did. As long as you're not disrespecting people or mosques you will not be in trouble.

As a Saudi Arabian woman, I'm telling you, eating in public is not a crime, 99.9% of people fast here, but there are many non muslim foreigners, so there aren't forced to fast during the day.. Not to mention, there are muslims who can't fast due to illness, or pregnant women who can't fast or women on their period. Also, travelers are given the choice not to fast in Islam. People wouldn't care about you eating in public because they would assume you have an excuse not to fast. If someone did intentionally and clearly eat to disrespect the holy month or the religion, he'd be surely arrested. No tolerance for any disrespect to our faith and values by the Saudi people or government.
@mariamd33688 ай бұрын

The reason why we Muslims fast because Allah ordered us to fast in the Holy Quran (2:183) O Believers, the Fast has been made obligatory on you just as it was prescribed for the followers of the Prophets before you. It is expected that this will produce piety in you. We Muslims follow the teaching of Jesus in fasting because according to the Bible Jesus was fasting like Muslims do fast Luke 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. Most people would worship during the night and then go back to their hotel after the morning prayer. They would sleep and then get up for the midday prayer and go back to the mosque. Unless of course they live there and have jobs to go to. A friend in Madinah said that schools and offices open later than usual in Ramadan. We don’t have that luxury in the western world. The fact that you walked around all day is why you felt it extra long and then that too in the heat. Allah doesn’t want us to put extra burden on ourselves. But well done for staying committed and congratulations for experiencing the peace of Ramadan. ❤

Water bottles, fountains everything just makes you yearn for water even more. Then you feel weakness due to not eating for long which you attributed to air pollution. Then near the sunset, you are suddenly reinvigorated. And the water at sunset is something special.

Now way man you could do it for sure, I can guarantee you could push yourself to do it. There is many people they are strong in many areas of life, and that strength you could also channel to complete a tough fast

Just a small correction - fasting is from dawn (not sunrise) to dusk (sunset).

I respect the fact that u highly respected the sanctity of the place and the city.... Also the fact that you and your wife were able to fast in such tough conditions and walk around the city all day is extremely impressive and as a Muslim raised in the desert I know it is not a joke.... thank you for sharing your experience and the great mini documentary.... just FYI u will never find better or nicer than the inhabitants of Madinah than in any Muslim country or city

What is Ramadan? We could write a long article on it but in short, it is for us to show that we are all equal. Everyone has to start and end at the same time. It helps the rich understand how poor people feel when they don't get to eat all day long. It was also meant to teach us to appreciate every small matter in our lives. Unfortunately, we've seen a lot of waste in terms of food. That's a bit sad though, where in Malaysia "Ramadan" has become an industry.

I went to Medina in December and I was so humbled and admired the spirituality of the people. It was amazing for me as a non-Muslim
