My nanna was proud to be from Hessle Road, and she was proud to see this song. This song will always bring happy memories for me.

Michelle Hardy my gran, many moons gone,was from hessle road and also had these songs on 45. it is strange listening to it, I remember her and I smile, then I remember she is gone and then my heart cries.

Proud to be a hessle rd lad, can remember pete smith coming into my primary school ( Newington) to sing this. Grew up myself down Eastbourne st before moving onto daircoates. Great memories good times.

Mine too. I’m part on the Beaumont/Baldwin’s. Grandparents were Dixon. (Little lass from subway street is actually about my mam). Oh my dad is playing bass on this and harmony’s. ✌🏼 I was born down flinton st. I’m a kid from Hessle rd. my dad is on the right in the photo. Rob Baldwin. My uncle Ray on the left. I’ve got the country shirt my dad is wearing in the 2nd photo.

the police officer Pete Smith, by what I've heard from my family and some of the Alec Gill videos on Hessle Road, He was a very lovely man x :)

Pete was a great guy, I had the pleasure of working with him briefly and hearing him sing Hessle Road always brings back so many memories of the area. I had his record but like many things has been.lost so will keep this video and play it when I want to remember some happy times working that area.
