Nice moose! Helpful hint - roll your game bags down all the way before you try to put it on the quarters. Put the tip of the quarter in the rolled up bag and the bag unrolls right up the leg.

Greetings from Fairbanks. Two things that might help. Electrical tape over the end of the barrel keeps the crap out. You can shoot through it. A land anchor or boat anchor could help when your winch line can’t reach the trees. Good video. Thanks for sharing it.

The bugs were not bad at all. I think the freezing temps at night kept them down. Yes I hunt around the Tok area. Jeff a great hunting partner and so easy going. It’s very nice having someone to share the workload.

Welcome to the channel and thanks for the sub. Whitetail is one animal I haven’t had a ton of opportunity to hunt. It has to be nice to be able to step out your door and hunt if you have a little land. Here that’s not possible. Big animals need big space, so you have to travel far to hunt up here.

Wow! Congrats to both of you for your successful hunt. Truly a blessing to have that experience alone but to cap it with multiple freezers full of meat is another level of cool! Suggest building or purchasing a deadman system for winching....I think they are also called barren ground winch anchors. I made one years ago and it got my 3/4 ton pickup out of a snow drift in Eastern MT. One of those things that has a bit of weight but...... You can also make roll up wheel mats using pressure treated rail spindles (12inch long) and outdoor carpet (turf style). Make: 2ea of 4ft lengths + 2 ea of 2ft length (for between front and rear wheels) that are easier to handle/retrieve. Once on to the longer length, the shorter section can be leap frogged ahead or back, which ever way you are going.They work well to provide flotation and traction to get out of mud or snow drifts. Ultimately, a set of tracks for the side by side would be cool and make it more useable in the winter months as well. LOL its only money. To pinch off my long winded-ness I absolutely loved your testimony, the frosted branch scene, and the content in general. Although it is nice to be appreciated for subscribing/watching, I feel it is you who should be thanked! Be blessed with all that you need.

Man I remember hauling my 65 1/2 incher out of the Alaskan wilderness never had a side by side or a wheeler just 3 guys and our legs, 2 miles away from our boat. Had to get a hernia surgery when I got home! It’s alot of work, but everytime I look at the horns I think of how awesome it was and how worth it all the hard work was. That bull that repeatedly grunts but won't show up. Could that basically be because he knows you're there and wants nothing to do with you? Maybe he's picked up your scent. You mentioned that he was walking up and down that ridge. Maybe he was trying to get downwind and see what you were and picked up your scent. I've seen Moose do that. Though they're almost like Deer in the sense that even if you spook them, they tend not to go very far unless you really really scare them. Usually, they double back.
