i have one of these engine and i have had poblems running her its mostly down to getting the fire right i have used your tip about useing a little bit of paper and have found it to be very useful.

just picked one up, seems to get good pressure but it wont pick up and dies out after a few slow strokes. spews water and steam everywhere. anyone know the issue?

Hi, great intro video!! we have one for my son and would like to know what accessories it's strong enough to power. WEbsite says it can't do accessories but I've seen conflicting info. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm using steam oil, the kind sold by Wilesco and other toy steam engine suppliers. Steam oil is a viscous oil that provides lubrication in hot and wet applications. Using standard motor oil, like 10w-40w, doesn’t work well as it’s easily dissipated by the steam.

That's not true, engine and motor are virtually synonymous. Look up motor in any dictionary, such as Merriam-Webster, and you will find it defined as "any of various power units that develop energy or impart motion". Seem to me that's what this contraption is doing. A steam engine is a specific type of motor, but it is a motor.
