I have one exactly like Rolys which will not run at all. I purchased the later one ( screw ) run like clockwork.

If you put distilled water in it why do you have to take the water out?

Water corrodes brass if left in. Not as quickly as steel but it does corrode slowly. Using distilled water prevents limescale but it doesn't prevent corrosion.

this one did more then what mine would on the first two runs. and haven't gotten to buying fuel for it yet to test the fixes i did. i screw the safety valve tight and find it was loose when i run out of fire and the engine is cooling. also the piston was blocked up with oil.

Can you hook this up to the Wilesco accessories? and is there any way to slow down the fly wheel?

Hi Ronan. There is a small pulley cut into the flywheel bush, from which you can drive small accessories. It doesn't have much power to spare, though. There is no regulator or throttle. As with all Willesco Esbit fired engines, there is a degree of control over the air supply to the burner and hence the flame size. This indirectly controls the engine speed to a certain extent.

candles are easier to find and cheaper then tablets also.

A VERY NICE DEASHION I WISH THAT MY D3 WOULD RUN LIKE THAT TODAY I STEAMED HER UP BUT SHE WOULD NOT STEAM WELL I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THE BURNER WAS NOT ALL THE WAY IN THE SPRING ON MINE IS A LITTLE SIFTH I LOSEND IT UP WITH A LITTLE OIL SORRY FOR THE CAPITALS

I have tried with my D3 and I will run 1 accessory but very well like roly said it doesn't have much power

Distilled water is far better to use in the boiler than soft water soft water still has many minerals that can build up in the boiler in addition to some residual water softener salt.
