@TGFLdn244 жыл бұрын
@@chichim2020 I think as others have said on here, it's about getting black people in positions of Power so that we are more than just "black twitter" and other black Voices talking loud and that we act swift on those that take liberties with black people. That is also another issue because if I say getting black people in places of power when talking on Jewish people, it's a problem.😬😬😬 Which again adds to what you are saying. This whole situation is tough and frustrating. This is what some American Jewish people have been advising the black American community on.
@DBiggaFigga6664 жыл бұрын
@@chichim2020 to hold people accountable you require power and influence. The Jewish community say it is an anti-semetic trope to suggest they hold power and influence. Then power and influence is used to lobby for Wiley's removal from Social Media platforms and quite quickly he is removed from Twitter, then Instagram, then Facebook and now even KZbin. Power and Influence is being used to lobby the Honours Forfeiture Committee at the Cabinet Office to ask for his MBE to be revoked. Power and Influence were used to get 12 police officers sent to have a chat about some messages on social media. Power and Influence is being used to try to pressure Police and CPS to prosecute. So this idea that we just need to hold people accountable is silly as it ignores the structural inequalities which provide some groups the platforms, privilige, power and influence to create accountability for their gripes whilst simultaneously denying that same parrity of justice and equality for others. We clearly lack the power and influence that you could be labelled anti-semetic for suggesting others have.........despite whether there is evidence to the contrary.
@DBiggaFigga6664 жыл бұрын
@Love Not Hate if you look properly through the comments many people have disagreed with what he said......just as they disagree with the likes of people like Katie Hopkins........but they point out that people like her have made careers out of being racists, given jobs and platforms in newspapers, tv, digital media, radio, social media etc to espouse their views.......not in spite of them but because of them. People point out the complete inequality in how he has been dealt with and point out that all racism or bigotry is not equal. Others have spent years spewing bile about other groups......some making careers from doing so......be they Black, Asian, Muslim, Gay, Migrants etc and have not been treated how Wiley was. All bigotry is not equal.......some groups possess a special protection that others don't. People have compared Wiley who had an outburst over 48 hours not all of which was racist I might add to career racists so to say they don't condemn him or disagree with what was said is a bit inaccurate. They also compare how the bigotry of both were dealt with. Can you honestly say that he has been dealt with equally? Was Katie Hopkins or Tommy Robinson etc removed from all platforms in one swoop......even platforms they had not misused? There are terrorists groups and radicalisation material in the online space......how is it they still exist but Wiley is erased for one outburst? Is it more to do with who the target of his outburst was? In terms of Hopkins, Robinson etc was there an immediate outcry at their first outburst? Was there an immediate shutdown of their views? You spoke about Israel.......I'd say the only way Israel gets into the conversation is if your looking at or comparing reactions. The reaction to home made 'rockets' which damage property but rarely kill or injure anyone is to level city blocks with jets, bombs and missiles regularly killing the innocent.......extreme response. Just as Wiley got an extreme response.......de-platformed from Twitter, KZbin, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok etc within 7 days......some of those platforms had not been misused either following one isolated outburst over 48 hours. Extreme response.
@DBiggaFigga6664 жыл бұрын
@TOO LATE BYE no.......what you fail to mention is that despite her views Hopkins was given a show on LBC and a job at The Sun and The Mail Online because of her views......her sacking isn't some example of equality......she should never have had those platforms to spread her bile in the first place.....but if the target of your racism, bigotry and vitriol are black people and Muslims I guess you get a pass. So don't come with bullshit about her being sacked after they gave her platforms. Also she wasn't fired from The Sun......she left The Sun in 2015 for a job at The Mail Online.......The Sun marketed her as 'Britains most controversial collumnist'......her bigotry was a selling point. She was given and used those platforms as a vehicle for her views.......her views were legitimized. Katie Hopkins with nearly three quarters of a million followers and media connections stated a 'final solution' was needed in reference to the Islamic community as a result of terrorism.......I think genocide goes a bit further than anything Wiley said. The funny thing is it was only picked up on so harshly as it had echoes of Nazi propaganda from the Holocaust. So this idea that "it's not been unequal what happened with Wiley as Hopkins got fired". We have established this to be a factual nonsense. Their treatment was very different. It took years for Twitter to remove her and Instagram, Facebook, KZbin and TikTok didn't all follow suit and erase her immediately either so again........lets not behave like there is any parity in their treatment. Also don't bring up her losing her home.......that was a result of her making untrue libellous statements about two brothers and getting sued privately by them.......nothing to do with it being some divine consequence of her views. There was no call for black people to go to war with Jews.......complete bullshit......but in the absence of the original tweets people like yourself choose to at best paraphrase and surmise statements made with your own spin on it or simply share untruths. You talk about 'all of the racist things Wiley said' but again......in the absence of the original tweets to discuss it is easy to make such assertions. The 'hold corn' tweet you are either deliberately taking out of context and misrepresenting or are simply ignorant of urban use of language and have been provided a literal translation and run with it. If it is the former you clearly have your own agenda.......if it is the latter it is an example of your own ignorance. The 'corn' was the tweets he was firing off........quite simple really in it's context......but keep misrepresenting if it makes you feel better.......but that screams professional victim to me. Wiley said plenty that was gross generalisations of a wider community which were offensive and could be deemed bigoted.......but I struggle with the label of racist.....as it has always been my understanding that Jews were a religious group......like Christian's rather than an ethnic group.......like African's or Indians etc.....so yeah.....not really seeing the racist bit to be fair. I'm not saying that all of what he said was right......he generalised and should have clearly identified who he was speaking about than casting vague generalisations across a whole religious group when those statements may have quite accurately fitted identified individuals or a cluster of individuals in the industry........then his grievances would have been able to be discussed without 'racist' or 'anti-semite' being the phrase screamed to shutdown any discussion. Thanks for popping by though.......now jog on.

Right around the world, we talk of people, groups, communities. Whites, blacks, the Germans, Muslims, football fans, animal rights activists. Grouping people helps us understand what would otherwise be a mass of humans with no way of categorizing them and has done since man learned to speak. Why has anything changed now? After all, books thousands of years old used these same terms. The Bible uses the word Jew, so does the Quran. Are Jews no longer a group, then why call them Jews at all and not just humans?

I just wanna set the record straight for what Wiley said about Palestine not belonging to modern day Jews, which is correct, the actual Lemba Jews ( one of the original 12 black jewish tribes) were forced out at the time of the fall of the great temple. The modern day Jews are actually decendents of a Ashkenazi Turkish tribe which the Lemba Traded with to the north of Palestine, their ruler adopted Judaism and his people followed suit. After WW2 the British gave the Ashkenazi's land in Palestine displacing 1000'S of Palestinians. To this day the Ashkenazi have continually violated their treaty with Palestine, until today where Israle is an apartheid state like how South Africa waz. Before people want to debate me and call what im saying BS or conspiracy do some research, i have given you alot of key words to type into google or youtube

Jake Hirsch That’s true Jews can come from any where in the globe. Also, European Jews tend to be the Ashkenazi (coverts) Jews, hence the Germanic surnames in US being associated with “Jewish”. Additionally, why are the black Ethiopian Jews and black/Africans in modern day Israel treated badly? There’s a racial element at play when it comes to the interactions between the collective groups globally and historically, which is being referred to overall.

Man, I am so conflicted on this conversation. Wiley's frustration with his manager was super poorly articulated. He shouldn't have said a lot of what he said. Most it is simply indefensible. No race should be stereotyped. That's standard. On the flip side, should he be crucified? No. Especially from sections of media who have never heard of a "Wiley" or seen his contribution or kept up with his ANTICS over the years. The Sky Interview pissed me off completely, it went in looking for ONE ANGLE and Wiley, being Wiley gave them that angle, again poor articulation and expression. I am also kinda pissed at some of the media outlets that champion Black Music and have presenters who are authorities on Black Music, pissed because they would have been able to unlock a deeper conversation with Wiley without the hyperbole. I'm not trying to sanitise what was said, but context is important. These outlets should have been as quick to interview him as they were when he has going at Stormzy or any of the other things he's done over the years. Racism, regardless of who it's against is wrong and although I have my views, as a black man about how we treated and portrayed, I would like the same energy and standards applied when there is racist behavour against EVERYONE. Whether they are Jewish, Black, Asian or White. We've said it a million times, Wiley needs help and we know he's not the easiest person to pin down. Let's use this as an opportunity to have a wider conversation on race. I told myself I wasnt gonna comment but cho!

You’ll notice you can easily speak about some people and not others, which is at its core UNFAIR. We can’t speak freely because people are sensitive, thats one element of human communication - tact solves that issue. But see this sensitivity, its being USED as power play by many corporate interests. This is what you are seeing with Wiley, corporate interests co-opting outrage into their own campaign. We honestly have seen many corporations that have absolutely NOTHING to do with things like black issues use George Floyd to focus their campaigns towards the black community. This is the same thing News organisations do with antisemitism, it co-opts THE OUTRAGE and keeps it alight to get the views, the advertising contracts and airtime - its fucking BUSINESS. @@TGFLdn24 Some people in all communities adhere to certains forms of everything, how is that a legitimate point? I won't admit any of those assumptions you made because I have not had a single discussion with a black person about Jews that has contained any anti-semite rhetoric because any of us have referenced Jewish influence in society etc its because there is actual basis for these claims of Jewish superiority within society for example: I watched a Netflix documentary which SAID OUTRIGHT that the Louise Wise Trust (look it up) had over 200 million dollars in assets and deep political connections - if that ain't power I DONT KNOW WHAT IS. An Adoption Agencry, with 200 million and DEEP POLITICAL CONNECTIONS. Please deny how that is power. Now was the documentary anti-semite? No, it most likely was produced by Jewish people, based on the fact that it was based around a Jewish adoption agency etc etc - my point is its not anti-semitism to point out actual facts in society. When its anti-semitism is when a claim about an entire group of Semites is actually just slander, with no basis in anything real. Let me know is that isn't clear because its a quite a specific point.

Influence provides protection. Just saying go protect your community is ignorant. The community has been speaking out on racism and injustice........they just clearly lack the influence to drive public backlash like this, drive a police response as was seen and drive any action from Social Media platforms. It is interesting when people say it is anti-semetic to suggest the Jewish community hold influence but then we see that influence at work with people afraid to have discussions and 4 social media platforms removing Wiley (despite having done nothing wrong on all of them). Influence exists......that is a fact. The Campaign Against Anti-Semitism are the ones who influenced the Police to send 12 officers to have a chat about some tweets, the same campaign lobbied Social Media platfoms to remove Wiley and he's since been removed from Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and KZbin. The same campaign is lobbying the Honours Forfeiture Committee at the Cabinet Office to ask for his MBE to be revoked. I see Influence and Power at work here. So when people say it is an anti-semetic trope to suggest the Jewish community have power and influence I'm calling bullshit on that as the evidence speaks for itself. You can't claim to have no power or influence and only represent 0.2% of the population but also have organisations like the CAA wielding power and influence whilst simultaneously saying power and influence is a myth. It is crazy to think the some of what was described as tropes are being played out as fact and reality.

@@lilycollins3496 Its not about Jews, in this case its about pissing off the wrong people (power) BUT the angle people are taking on this is the DOUBLE STANDARD. "Oh you can talk about black people but we can't talk about Jews nah?" SAFE.

It could be an oversimplification but this is the core sentiment, people FEEL IT. Its a real and valid emotion, as valid as John Woolf's personal feeling when Wiley said what he said. All emotions are valid but why is one a cancellation but on the other hand we've had racism levelled at us historically that's not been so militant in the way its addressed. I'm saying when things are aimed at the black community we don't see this type of immediacy of cancellation, the FIRE BURNS WAY LONGER THROUGH OUR COMMUNITY when some gets a little litty

@@lilycollins3496 question, have you heard about what happened to Reggie Yates? I was not talking about Wiley in my comments. I am not here for the Conspiracy talk but coming from me and what I witnessed, The Reggie Yates situation is what really made me feel a way. That did give a bit of weight to people's assumptions.

There’s actually so many problems in this world it is so sad to think of. Me personally I haven’t been doing much to bring attention to these topics, I just don’t know where to start. In my opinion there will always be hate, racism, classism, misogyny, facism and I don’t think it will ever go away completely

What I want to add to my comment is the part of the podcast that I am referring to are the comments around the difference in repercussions depending on what community is being attacked, I think people may be getting the white Priveledge within the Jewish community and assuming it is the Jewish community as a whole. I think people need to distinguish the power that a few group of people have that happen to be be Jewish and not just say the Jewish community. If you look at those they say are in high postion they are of European descent. So what I think we are confusing white Priveledge. That is why when something is said that is deemed anti-semitic you get the full force because that are seen in power in the Jewish community are predominantly are white. So when you think of Jewish people as whole what is the image that comes to mind so I think people need to pointing out people's religion as the catalyst for their behavior and the people as whole. But that is just my two cents on it really

Yes, I agree but...I have seen some conversation like this sidetracked as some in the Jewish community have an issue with talking on white privilege and the Jewish community ie Rachel Riley etc.
@pattermepretty4 жыл бұрын
Okay that is a fair point but I think what I was trying to say is if someone has a criticism of someone I think saying "Jewish people" is a counter productive and backwards. Judaism is not religion, it isn't even a race as all ethnicities and races are Jewish. I think the criticism should be about the individual people when you use the words such as "Jewish people" is assumption that everyone who is Jewish had these traits and are monolithic which is what all minorities dislike but in terms of people getting the full force when you say something anti-semitic I believe it definitely ties into whiteness and if there are people trying to block that conversation as you said then regrettably these assumptions will always happen. People need to have these conversations as it is also detrimental to the Jewish community if what you are saying which I deem to be true is happening.

@@pattermepretty I agree. The termanolgy is a problem and wish we talked on that side more without it being a issue to some people.

@Love Not Hate So you read my comment and this is what you took from it? I was talking about white privledge and not Judaism. The criticisms that people have I am saying people need to stop saying "Jewish people" As a person's behaviour should not be equated to their religion. I said those that are being criticised we need more look at the proximity to white privledge or white privledge as a whole. I am taking religion and beliefs off the table and you still brought it back to religion. You are so triggered by this talk that you are reading everything as an attack. Where in my comment did I attack Judaism or those that practice it?
@pattermepretty4 жыл бұрын
@Love Not Hate no i said I think people are confusing white Priveledge and the religion. I didn't infer anything. I didn't deflect, I watched this podcast and was in reply to this podcast. The part of the podcast. My comment was in reference to the part of the podcast where they mentioned that with there have been a lot of prominent figures who have said derogatory things about black people & other cultures and still have a platform but with Wiley he was banned, the police came to home, this why I said we should look at white priledge and not the fact they are Jewish. This is part of the podcast I was referring to, so am wrong to say that what made the platforms, police respond in that way is white Priveledge. My point was had the person been maybe a black Jew the repercussions would of not been the same. In the podcast they also commented that how it was dealt with by the media, platforms, police could further prove Wiley's comment, it was even said that someone from the Jewish community also commented the same thing. This is where my comment came from. What happened between wiley and his manager, I don't now so I am not going to comment on that. Also. You referring to the Jewish community in the UK I was talking internationally. As this would effect Jewish people all over the world not just the UK. Media, social platforms are seen for all over so I am mindful that I don't just think that only people from the UK would be effected by this. I wish you had asked me in your comment instead of coming at me. The podcast was an more than 30 minutes and they discussed many different things surrounding what Wiley's comments brought but you jumped to the conclusion that I was talking about wealth and power I was talking about repurcussions, i can concede that I didn't make that clear but I would also ask you to ask questions and not to jump down my people's throat. To also police me about not condeming Wiley's comment when I was commenting on what was said in this podcast and not Wiley. That is why I didn't mention him. I didn't refer to him, I was not talking about him.

I see extreme caution discussing this subject, an attempt has been made to silence any debate. Well done for having the minerals to address it. Most people are absolutely terrified to even discuss such matters. You dont have to justify debating any subject, nobody is above criticism.

Firstly, the first Jews were black Israelites. Look into that. Secondly & briefly from a music industry perspective, ( this is where I believe Wiley was trying to come from ) dated back in history in the relationship between white Jewish labels profiting from the black musicians/entertainment or performing in their establishments from as early as the blues & ORIGINAL rock & roll era. A lot of the artists had 0 to none ownership/ rights to records or credentials etc.. Anyhow this is the same uk to act oblivious to racism and micro-racism during blm, whilst purposely publishing the wrong photos of black Celebrities in articles. The same UK to continuously find fault in Dutches Meghan Markle whilst Andrew is under fire for his involvement in the biggest trafficking scandal
From chuckle said he’s reading comments I know this episode is gunna be 🔥 I’m only two minutes in 🤣

For the comments on Wiley’s Mental Health: Nah, people aren’t built for the environment that Wiley grew up in. I remember seeing a video on his Instagram when he said something like “he can send 12 police to my door, but if I get robbed for 4.5 million I can’t do that, I’ll have to lick a man down”. If this has anything to do with anything the. I can see Wiley being vexed about the money and coming for my breddas neck. And when Wiley/the grime scene are mad we know how they act. We were there at the clashes, we heard the war dubs. People connected get brought into it all. Remember Dot Rotten and P Money and what was said then. The difference is, the environment was different. The Jewish community/Public aren’t accustomed to that time of thing. The only thing missing from Wiley’s comments was an Eski beat instrumental

Glad you mentioned what the papers do. They also regularly allow racist comments under stories involving the black community. Click on most other articles they have the comments turned off. For years they have allowed ignorant racist comments .
