Hi Aaron, Other options are Wilkinson WLS130/S Locking Steel Saddles which can retrofit the saddles on the Gotoh 510. In terms of the Wilkinson WVS1302P you have the WVS1302P Compact which is a modified version of the Standard WVS1302P Vibrato, and is designed to fit specifically on Charvel “Dinky” Style guitars with bridge recesses, and shorter body depth. I have Wilkinson WVS1302P standard and it has no problem in the Warmoth 510 body rout although you do need to use the studs as you mention in your video.

The compact is for Charvel's (etc.) with slightly recessed trems, thus the shorter depth. Wilkinson makes a non-compact version for non-recessed bodies

Hi to Aaron, and all you guys following the videos that Warmoth produce for their superb products. Being part of the Wilkinson team I can clear up any confusion people may have regarding our anniversary vibrato range. In the range we currently have two vibrato units which are the; WVS130/2P Standard version. WVS130/2PC Compact version. Both units are 56mm across centres with a 10.8mm string spacing. The block on the Compact version is shorter and the top plate is also smaller, this is designed purely for Charvel model guitars that are routed around the vibrato on the front of the guitar, and are also routed at the rear so the plate is level with the body rear. In answer to the comment about Gotoh being are sole manufacturer this is not the case. The fact is that we utilise a small number of high quality bridge and component manufacturers to create our hardware, and like other leading guitar brands we have a selection of ranges at different price point to suit the individual customer. As noted by many of the comments, Wilkinson also produce a range of locking saddles that will fit many bridges/vibratos that are part of the Anniversary range, these are denoted; WLS130/S Standard versions which will fit many vibratos on the market. WLS130/P PRS style, designed to fit the PRS vibrato. WLS130/F Fender offset screw style, designed to fit the 2 pivot fender vibrato with offset intonation screws (right hand only) If anyone does have further questions then please feel free to contact me @ rick@wilkinsondirect.com

The unusual short specs of that bridge block aside, would you consider doing a video on essentially a little measuring course, on how to swap such bridges from one to another on the same body, like for instance those wilkinson bridges. There are so many details that should be regarded when upgrading a tremolo bridge, but few videos that explain which measurements should be done and how they should be done. I bet there are lots of viewers who want to educate themselves and dont necessarily shy away from using woodworking tools to accomplish such a task.

Knowledgeable reps that step up at the time of ordering to help us navigate thru all these compatibility issues would give me a ton of confidence as a customer. Does anyone at Warmoth look for this before ordered are run when different parts are ordered at the same time?
@warmoth3 жыл бұрын
We look for obvious compatibility issues and advise where we can. However, there is a near--infinite number of parts and manufacturers out there, with specs and dimensions constantly changing, new products coming to market, others being discontinued, etc., so it's impossible for anyone to keep track of it all. It's also really impossible for us to know how each person intends to use our parts, so the ultimate responsibility for compatibility lies with the end user. If you watch both videos in this 1302 test you can see how much work went into figuring out the compatibility of one bridge....which we don't even sell!

VS100N is shown as 28.4x2 = 56.8mm on gotoh's site. I believe they are showing how far you can go with the stud centers; not sure tbh but the right stud is not in the center of the marking. Either specs have changed or you are putting your studs too narrow and not landing them in a more general spot as you said the stud spacing Warmoth uses is 54.5mm. Not sure where you are getting that from. From gotoh's dwg I'd guess you are landing your studs in the center of the markings, but that's not what they are showing on the dwg. Great vid though, appreciate the shorter block info you highlighted!

I find the locking screws are a bad design. The rounded head makes it necessary to use a too small Allen key, so they will wear out quick and be a pain. If they had used square shoulders on the heads, they could have used a larger diameter Allen key that is more common, have a deeper hole and longer lifespan. I hope the screws will get an update in the future, or someone will release a retrofit screw ;-)
