Just bought and installed a set of these tooonerz on my Partscaster. Couldn't believe how easy they were to install, and I didn't have to drill the holes out either. Thanks for the stringing instructions, they've been so helpful!

I bought a set of those for a Peavy but I didn’t understand why they had two holes, so I strung the guitar like they were regular tuners so thanks for the video

I bought these tuners , I just bought a cheap after not playing for 10 years . I bought pretty much everything to replace everything on the guitar but I’m nervous about doing it myself . I’m gonna try to install these tomorrow myself 🤞 to save some money lol

Had no idea about the SE's and I think you are the first video I found that got the Wilkenson tuner string-up right. Others are wrapping and wrapping around the post. Thanks brother.

Thanks for the video. It was a delight to watch and to listen to you chat. Most refreshing. I got me a set of these tuners I’m fitting to my sunburst squire. I’m a drummer picking up the 6 string after 20 years. Like you say, these little squires are pretty good. I’m blown away with it to be honest. This is more than I can say for my playing! Great vid... I like the whole mod... Guitar looks great.. GFS bridge with brass block Graphtech nut and of course the tunners.. Never tried the wilkison pick ups but i think they are similar to GFS pickups.. I have a set of GFS 1960's repros overwound alnico sss pickups in a similar build of a mim strat and it is a real player.. I think your strat is 100% gig ready.. Great job...

It's amazing, I did almost the exact mods on mine-for the same reason; the black logo. only things I didn't change were the white pickguard, knobs and switch knob, string trees and the nut. You're right about those Wilkinson tuners. They do a pretty good job (except if you play Wicked Game six or seven tImes in a row) Nut-job is next.

'Nother Georgia geezer here ... thanks for this! That guitar is gorgeous! My build skills just about qualify me to be a Ham-Fisted Amateur, but it sure is fun! (One Strat and two Teles so far, with a modified Explorer in the works!) I, too, am rapidly becoming a fan of GFS.

GFS pickups are good. I’ve only ever used the Crunchy Pat humbucker and the Fat Pat humbucker. Never tried the single coils though. Their X trem tremolo is very good as well. On those you don’t have to cut the ball end off the string like you would on a Bigsby.I also bought their PRS guitar kit. With that though, I’m using Seymour Duncan “Distortion Mayhem” set, a Deusenberg Les Trem II tremolo and either these Wilkenson tuners or Sperzels. Cause how I see it as far as a kit goes is your “essentially” building a custom instrument so why not go all out?😎👍

I love it! Thank you sir. I'm building a guitar very very similar to yours. All blacked out. Although I blacked out every single chrome piece and light-colored object on the guitar. I'm currently putting on these Wilkinson tuners as we speak. Just wanted to see if there is any problems in doing that. (I'm putting on new strings so I won't have to deal with the frustration that you dealt with. Haha) again, thanks for this post. 👍

Ok, Ive been searching all over the place and can't seem to find an answer, so I bought the same Wilkinson tuners but Left handed, for my reverse headstock, what I didn't know was that these are "Staggered" posts and on the back they have these numbers L 1-1, L 1-2, so I know the L is for Lefty, but being a reverse headstock I'm kinda confused if the "1" thinner string is the one that goes the lowest hole on the headstock. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nice video, and a very cool modded Squier axe, sir. I've just installed these tuners on my Squier Affinity. Did you enter all the strings first in the higher hole then 'locked' them in the lower one or you did the opposite for the lower strings (E and A)? I've used the first approach on all strings and i've noticed that for the low E and A strings the angle from nut to tuners is almost zero. I don't know if It is bad or ok. Absolutely brilliant, informative and now I also know all about guitar string roller trees. I have ordered some and also the Wilkinson E-Z lock tuners and will be upgrading all my cheapie strats with these. Are the Wilkinson single coil pickups better than the standard squire (factory installed pickups)? I am thinking of upgrading to those as well if the're better and they are not too expensive.

I think they are. I have put them in quite a few guitars. GFS have good pickups as well as Dragonfire. I really appreciate your comment and watching my channel.

Were the holes for the tuners already at 10 mm. I have a SE I’m modding and wanted to know if I needed a tapered reamer to enlarge tuning holes to 10 mm. Thanks.

Yes sir, they were already 10mm. I can't say that they are all going to be that way. There's a chance that some of these could have been made in different factories and could vary but I don't know that for sure.

That seems like a cumbersome process, I like to use standard tuners and use the self lock method, cleanest easiest and best even better than silly locking tuners.

Why can’t you just use a normal tuner and thread the string through the same hole twice?

The first string would probably work better if it was not bent round the height screw on the bridge!
