Great job and great video. It helps to see others work so I know I'm not doing it completely wrong. Thanks and please keep making these videos.

What an encourager you are... to me and to others, young artists who may have a piece of wood and do not know what hey should carve; THEN they stumble onto your Tutorial video, now probably carving their hearts out, and starting to save monies so they could buy some more great wood for future carvings!!! I have been carving ever since I was 13 years old, until 1990, when I had a severe case of Spinal Meningitis, nearly died, BUT I TRUSTED GOD THE SON, JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH; NOW FOR OVER 41 YEARS LATER, STILL AM!!! That bout took all my 19 art forms from me, but want to pick up my tools even with memory problems; BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE... for me!!!! Here's a hint, since your Eagle is looking to the right, carve a shallow hole slightly to the left in it's eye, it will make it stare more realistically, just saying, AWESOME CARVING, KEEP IT UP!!!, Living here in Thomson Center in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. Always frustrating having to keep drawing your design back on repeatedly as the layers get carved away! Great video and awesome carving

Definitely! But it's definitely an important part of the process. Thanks for watching!

@@wilkinsonwoodcarving Make your line drawing on a piece of clear plastic and you can lay it on top of the carving when you want to re-reference. Use a small V tool or U gouge to outline your drawing instead of the knife. Makes your borders much cleaner.

Maybe put rubber or that no slip RV cabinet material under your saw hoarse legs.
