Will 1/10th RC Rally be big in 2024?

We have been racing off road indoors for a year now and in 2024 we intend to head outside. On the channel we have several cars for all budgets, from the FTX Vantage (Budget) LC racing (affordable) and the pro cars such as the Team associated B7 and Schumacher LD3.
LC racing xtraveganza is one of the most fun events with a variety of fun classes hitting the track and it made for some supper close racing.
We had Team Associated RC10B7 hitting the track in the 2wd buggy class and some old Carisma cars in the Micros and Some interesting Modified Tamiya cars going up against LC and Carten in the Rally class. This event has a huge emphasis on FUN and caters for more types of vehicles than we ever have before, hence the event slogan...

I certainly know the Forest of Dean club is bringing a Rally class to their BRAND NEW, Off-Road track in 2024. Should be up and running by the summer.... Group N and Group B planned.

I have dirt running in my vains. Rally all the way. I race at redwoods rally X (folkestone) 10th, 8th, converted 8th buggies and 5th. I also work at Rochester rc (the rally guy as wil called me) Would be great if you could popalong to the club one day. keep up the good work

I know in my local area, dirt oval and drifting are the popular things. I like rally cars because they are the middle ground between an off road truck or buggy, and a touring car. Slingin' dirt never gets old, plus there's the whole rally history and cool factor to go along with running these RCs. I got to drive a real WRX STI way back when around 2005 and it still has a lasting impression to this day. That potato egg ball looks delicious by the way! "gurglin' and rumblin'" 😆🤣😁

I’m very excited to rally this year. I’d like to get the LC racing PTG2R with the 07 Subaru killerbody for my birthday. I’ve already had lots of fun with the kyosho mk2 fazer Bugeye rally Chassis. However there really isn’t any rally races in the Minnesota U.S. area. Nice to see you guys racing!

I’m into RC’s mostly crawlers but I love anything with 4wheels I have been looking at Rally cars for awhile & more are coming out so I sense I good amount of interest in in Rally RC’s & now it’s growing I haven’t purchased one yet because I’m waiting reviewing & hoping more come out to expand my choices & I’m not looking at a specific size anything 1:10 or larger will do. 👍

All you ever need for the rally is the justock 10.5 its super smooth and has plenty of speed in the rallies

Try running slick drift wheels(not rubber), remove the jumps from the track and just have racers slide around the course - drivers need to learn grip levels and when to break grip and slide around corners. If a place offered this near me I would be there as a regular. It's seriously the best fun you can have.

How dare you hit a Peugeot 205 that's just criminal😮 There should be more such fun/mixed events. The only events where I live are 1:10 touring indoor flat surface, they have like 3 races a year. And 1:5 nitro, 1:8 nitro touring outdoor also flat and they have like 6 races a year. I'm not into touring cars and less into nitros lol

Dude, that's nearly $1000 for a kit. There are 1/8th scale GP car kits that are cheaper. Which is why TRF flopped on the market despite their competition success. When an XRAY is a better value than your car you know you're overpriced.

iconic cup is pre 2004 cars only ... vintage series... However lack of parts means they have introduced a couple of different chassis

@@bradkalman2353 And it was a waste of R&D money if it's going to be priced similarly to other TRF models, because no one's going to buy it at such a high price point. Don't get me wrong, it's probably going to be a very capable vehicle, it's just... whoever decides the prices on TRF models is an idiot. Again, XRAY doesn't go that high and they're considered pretty expensive in their own right.

As awesome as RC rally and rallycross are, I don't see them ever picking up here in the US. Why? Couple of factors. 1. Full-size rally has always struggled to gain any sort of traction here in the US, because the typical motorsports fan in the US wants to be able to sit down, get drunk on cheap beer and watch the whole event from the stands. Now, that's not to say that _all_ US motorsports fans are like that, but it's enough of them to prevent anything that isn't either paved oval, dirt oval, drag racing or arena based from going mainstream here. And that also influences the RC market here - the reason why ARRMA doesn't make a rally car because they don't think it would sell, even though it would be super easy to stick a sedan or hatch body on a Senton and call it a day. 2. The RC racing scene here in the US is also known for having a huge stick up its collective ass when it comes to introducing new classes. Short Course Trucks only really took off because the trucks appealed to enough motorsports fans who previously hadn't even heard of RC racing, when they first came out the veteran racers (honestly, me included) were big nay-sayers, especially since the truck that introduced the class was the Traxxas Slash, an absolutely _hopeless_ racing platform (without heavy amounts of work, anyway. You can make a Slash fast around a track but it's not worth the effort and money except as a self-imposed challenge) designed primarily to look and drive like a full-size SCT with performance mostly taking a back seat. Rally doesn't have that backing, and the veterans probably aren't going to adopt it no matter how awesome it is - they'd rather just keep racing their thousand-plus-dollar "stock" buggies. Even previously well-established classes like Stadium Truck are struggling here now. Personally, I would _love_ for RC Rallycross to become a thing in the US, especially if it stays a spec class. But I don't see it happening.

While I mostly agree with your premise, I don't think it's quite as dark. Racing R/C in America is about the big races with the clubs filling in the calendar between them. There is plenty of room for rally cross; We don't need ROAR to sanction it either. All you need is some people with Tamiya TT-01/TT-02's, Kyosho Fazer, HPI or standard width Associated TC3. Torque Tuned is fine for doubles, for triples on a typical 1/10 r 1/8 track will need more power to clear triples. With that in mind, maybe a 17.5T should be the standard motor. Stock class with XV-01/XV-02, Associated Rally upgrade for the TC3/4, etc with 10.5T power
