Former presidential candidate and founder of the Forward Party, Andrew Yang and author and essayist Stephen Marche join Open Book this week to discuss their brand-new political thriller The Last Election.
The Last Election is set on the campaign trail of the 2024 presidential race, it is as much as wake-up call as it is fiction. If no candidate can amass the 270 electoral college vote majority, who wins? Could we then see a corrupt seizure of power? And what will become of American democracy as we know it? Andrew and Stephen answer all of this and more…

Tremendously impressive of you Anthony, to have both of these men as your guests. The combined honesty and sincerity of purpose from the three of you was more than admirable. If there’s hope for an American transformation into a true democratic future the inspiration will be largely drawn from humans such as yourselves.

Hey Anthony thank you so much for doing the Cameo for my dad's birthday last weekend, he loved it! Totally caught him by surprise (as he didn't know what Cameo was beforehand).

Excellent podcast and look forward to reading their book. I see Andrew Yang on NewsNation with Chris Cuomo. I would love to see Andrew Cuomo run for President. I have been a life long Democrat and I was in politics. I know the game and we can do better! I never voted for Trump and never would. Thank you Anthony Scaramucci sitting up more I could see your handsome face better 😉

I'm Australian and didn't know about anything about Anthony at all.until he came to White House, I didn.t like him then. But when he left the Trump train and saw him in interviews after that, I have really warm to this guy big time. He is very well read, articulate, highly intelligent and above all a fantastic interviewer. Keep it up mate. Greatest respect from me. Get some Australians on your show there will be some funny banter

I'm Irish but I could tell you a very similar stoy about my paternal grandfather. If you ever want to look him up he was an orphan from Ireland who came to the USA and when he retired in 1960, he was a deputy police commissioner for NEW YORK CITY ! Great story! Part of his story was in LIFE Magazine I believe in 1963.

Also I agree about the representative of Minnesota. I’ve heard him speak, and I would love to see him as a presidential candidate if not president.

Perot was a billionaire when they were rare. His self funding in 92 & 96 kept him in the game and he made the best showing of 3rd party candidates, but failed to win a single state. 3rd party candidates will only influence elections as spoilers and that is the specific strategy on No Labels in 24.

What has she done that quantifies you saying she sucks? How often does the VP have the limelight on them? In spite of what people say, she has a great track record and has the pulse on a lot of issues. I’ve watched her speak on multiple forums. I wasn’t sold on her in the beginning, but she is not vice president just because of the color of her skin and being a woman, but because of what she brings to the table

Just put Dolly Parton on the ballot and be done with it. EVERYONE would vote for Dolly and I trust her to hire all the best people to run things, be in her Cabinet, etc. Point of fact, she's quietly done more for people than most Presidents or Congresscritters.

Third parties for 2024 will likely re-elect trump, that CAN NOT HAPPEN or it will be the Last election if he gets his way‼️ I’m not a major fan of Biden or Harris but we’ll definitely vote for him.

@@dougphamtexas2707 yang was always an out-&-out joke. a bare grifter. it's probably only a matter of time until we uncover his connection to the group pushing ramaswarmy. more myth than math, yang had a blue-hatful of gimmicks & then convinced white men who were worried that they had missed the party bus that he could get them in. instead, all he did was load his bus up with the usual suspects, & go round & round, wiggling his hands about like a magician, but with absolutely nothing up his sleeve
