For years I keep thinking “ surely that will sink him or this will put him away but somehow, like a 250lb leech, he continues to threaten the future of your great country and history. I truly hope the majority of Americans will vote for democracy in 2024. For if it is lost to Trump, it may be gone forever. Good luck! And yes. I am so sick of hearing that wining spoiled brat also. When he was a diehard Trumpist, I was thoroughly disgusted that a descendant of Italian immigrants would go all-in, in support of MANGO MUSSOLINI. It was evident to me that Anthony Scaramucci, had abandoned his roots and betrayed his values. He exhibited all the vile sterotypical characteristics that bigots, many of whom are republicans I might add, falsely scapegoat Italians with having. His apparent arrogance and his propensity to lie on Trump's behalf was just reprehensible, in my opinion. His first clue that he was reviled in some circles by many ranking members of the Trump's administration was the reactions of Mark Meadows and Sean Spicer when MOOCH officially came on board the Trump train 🚉 . I have been impressed with Scaramucci's turnaround. I can understand why many of Trump's cabinet sycophants and minions would not have liked the Scaramucci on display in this interview. I only regret that he didn't meet Stephen Miller in his brief sojourn in the White House, because I know Anthony would punched in the mouth and rendered him unconscious! Scaramucci's ability to effectively communicate with thoughtful, intelligent, knowledgeable and insightful discourse on relevent and important topics of significance was admirable. I believe that Tucc, or if you prefer Tooch, and the Mooch would enjoy taking in a ball game game sometime and enjoy an espresso or glass of wine on Mulberry Street together!

Sociopath is exactly right. I've worked and mixed with sociopaths on many occasions. They are often admired for having "strong personalities" or being "high achievers, focused, visionaries" and sometimes even "charismatic". Unfortunately, they are also often insecure, self-promoting, vengeful, insincere and dishonest. They will lie without a second thought, and lack any empathy, humility, OR any sense of humour. Given unrestricted power, they can be highly dangerous and destructive.... Sound familiar?

Tony was simply WRONG about democrats squandering their opportunity to be like FDR. First of all FDR had overwhelming control of the House and Senate and thus could push through virtually anything he wanted to. Biden does not have that and has to fight to get anything at all done. Secondly, given the razor thin party margins in the House and Senate now, it is simply a fact that Biden has actually gotten a significant amount of things accomplished in his first term. If Biden had the same type of House and Senate majorities that FDR had, no doubt Biden would have accomplished even more.

It’s a bad sign when even an American political journalist use the phrase «we are the greatest country in the world». The only statistics the US leads among all candidates for «greatest country» is incarceration per capita, killings and gun ownership. The US is number 21 on the UN Human Development Index, far behind the best European countries. And, this reporter is so wrong about 2016. It was not a black swan highly unlikely to happen again. It had been in the cards for decades. From Europe we could see the whole damned breakdown unfold at least since another showman, Reagan, took office.

I’m a Democrat, but I grew up in the Midwest and now live in a liberal state. When I try to explain to people here how people in the Midwest feel, like minorities get everything handed to them, they don’t understand it. They just say ‘oh, they are racists’. The majority are not, but they are tired of working their butts off and seeing others qualify for aid or food stamps. It used to piss me off too. I would own one pair of jeans and could barely afford shoes for my kids, while the minority moms had their nails done professionally, owned the latest and greatest phones and would whip out their food stamp cards at the grocery store. What Midwest people don’t understand is that it is the Republicans that make it so hard for them to qualify for assistance or earn a decent wage. We were caught right in the middle. We made too much for help to pay our propane bill, but not enough to live on more than pot pies or mac and cheese. If you are white and supposedly middle class you are struggling. People are sick of struggling and the Republicans and their tax breaks for the rich are breaking their backs. They want to see us all fighting, because then we don’t focus on the rich corporate CEOs who are robbing this country blind.

It’s curious, when observing dispassionately or more than likely discouraging when observing from the point of view that democracy itself is at stake, that so many Americans find any solace huddling under the Trumpian umbrella. I hear all the comments about those ‘left behind’ or ‘left out’, about the disparity of wealth driving despair and all that’s true enough and should only elicit a sympathetic response. But nonetheless it’s curious that with the many options those same disenfranchised voters were exposed to, the Trump imagery and hype was their choice to follow. That’s the question to be answered regarding the collective social consciousness of the American voter. The middle class, anaesthetised by a consumer culture, entrepreneurial wealth and the cultural acceptance of envy as legitimate motivation for even more, has allowed the widening disparity of wealth, education and health to continue unabated. What could possibly go wrong with attributes as those for your baseline? Education would be a good start. Those that haven’t studied art see the Mona Lisa as no more valuable then a paint-by-numbers image, no real knowledge of medicine; then why not snake oil for cancer treatment? or decades lacking basic civics lessons; anybody can lead, so why not a Trump?

A bit before Trump ran I started studying the Dark Ages and fall of Rome, Marius, Sullla, Caesar. I mean it seemed to me we were coming off the rails with conspiracies, etc. Glad I did. It gave me some -- albeit very, very cold -- comfort. You might want to do a read of Plato's Republic or Seutonius' the 12 Caesars. We've been here before many, many times. But I do think we're most like Rome, corrupt Senate toppling at the end. Did not see the reappearance of the witch hunts of the Dark Ages coming back in fashion, bu there you go. I think the mayans and their repeating calendar my have been onto something about the cycle of stupidity and enlightenment we seem to be trapped in

I spent summers and holidays with my grandparents who lived less than a block away from John Gotti. Not sure how Anthony "grew up" with him. Not doubting it. I mean, were Gotti's kids were hiking it up to the north side of Long Island? I never pictured any of them as college material. While I did enjoy Howard Beach, it was like central casting for Married to the Mob; and I steered clear of the lot of them. My first job at Lenny's Clam Bar as a waitress at 16. A waiter had been murdered a week or so before at a nearby diner because he'd spilled wine on a mobster's wife on accident. So pretty much my only "training" was "don't spill any f-ing wine." Waiting on those guys was usually lucrative since they were eager to show how much money they had, but it was decidedly unpleasant. I cannot get a clear picture of Mr. Scaramucci with any of Gotti's offspring. Gotti was loved by a segment of the community -- not the families of the ones he killed, of course. But every time some crime happened, the whole neighborhood would say, "nevvawouldahappened if Gotti wasn't in prison."

In short, how do the Evangelicals come into the picture where, today, The Donalds pitch is one of I'm the Good that stands in opposition to the Evil that is coming after me because I'm standing in the way of the Evil coming after you.? It's his appeal to good people's moral purview to his own advantage by using them for his own ends.

I cringe when Thump says, “I’m doing this for you! I could. be making millions” What does that say to the people in thrall to him? It just isn’t the truth.

The Donald is smelling now! It's alleged ! So! Anything can happen now! People are saying that president Biden is old, what about Trump? It is only 2yrs between them! President Biden is in better shape than the Donald, anyway one wants to look 😉 at it. Health whether emotionally, spiritually, physically, financially, humanely, morality etc. Get my drift?

Mooch. The perennial likeable trickster. Bright as the button he leaves unfastened at the neck lest he has to swivel at a moment’s notice.

Anybody who has shaken off the Trump adoration curse is either a bum or an absolute hero. The bums are the ones he discarded as useful idiots.

Fox news laid the table and Trump showed up for dinner. Trumps appetite for Fox news was his whole strategy. Once he got the nomination he closed the loop.

Anthony, just prior to watching this video, I saw your interview at Oxford Union. You defended Trump then. You said that he was a thoughtful man and definitely not a sociopath. What has changed you?

I just don’t understand Trump’s appeal. I’ll never understand, still perplexed after all these years.
