@ So how it would work is IF there is a 2/3 majority vote at the bicameral state level the governor can be overridden. So all that has to happen is restricting proposals alongside a majority vote and the gerrymandering can be approved. This only has to happen in the electoral college states. So you would still have “elections” you would just have NO chance of ever winning them. This is unlikely though and I’m kind of engaged in doomerism here.

Republicans won the popular vote here. What do you want the Democrats to learn from the 'citizens', be more like Republicans? The entire country shifted right. I would propose Democrats stop running candidates for elections, period. Let Republicans run the country for the next 20 years and let the majority of America receive all the 'great' things that are coming to them. Most Americans are too far removed from actual suffering and the consequences of their actions to learn any real lessons. I've had enough with the left being scapegoats for the right. Let them have it all. There has to be tremendous suffering here for anything to change. You don't charge a bad party by electing a worse one.

Same here...however, keep in mind that historically when the fed starts a rate cutting cycle, within 18 months we have a recession. Not what people think we're in right now, but the real kind of recession with 5-10% unemployment. Just in time for the midterms, and hopefully, a course correction. Chaos is very profitable for a few groups of people. People of the USA, can vote how they choose. However, history tells us over and over that chaos does not benefit the majority of people in a country. Peace and cooperation creates richer economies that benefit all. Progressive parties need to address inequality and make wealth distribution more even to counter radical chaotic leaders, and governments. Here in the UK, our Labour government needs to address issues of inequality, and disenfranchised voters.Putting the country above party politics,and personal ambition would be a good start.
