The plan based on the stream was to build The Herta with small Herta since they would both worked in pure fiction. And probably pulled Robin though it be more interesting if he included pulling for Aglaea to show F2P side of both teams. Already done by a Chinese content creator, he started his account 1 year ago, missed 6 50/50’s in a row. And has 9 stars on all content. Clearing F2P is no issue at all, but you can’t just pull whoever you want based on your preferences. Like this content creator, he only pulled for the dotcheron+Huohuo and the premium firefly team, nothing else. You need to be smart on who to spend your pulls, and that’s where the majority of the player base fails.

Because as usual, being a new player come with the knowledge of not knowing shit in the game, it's very different when you already know a lot of it so you KNOW how and what to pick and what you need to carry your account. Going in as a real clueless player will fuck you up for a long time if you pick ONE single wrong pull like any new player would usually do, and I picked 2 wrong pulls, Jingliu on her rerun and Sparkle, And my first clear full star has neither of them, they both have fully built set and BiS lightcone too.

I dont think its reasonable to expect a F2P to clear MOC within the patch you started playing. I started in 2.1 with acheron and as a whale it took me until 2.3 with ruan mei’s release for me to full clear moc 12 as a spender (e2 acheron / e1 ruan mei / e6 gallagher / e6 pela) - (e0 ratio / e1 topaz / e 1 robin / e1 aventurine). I mention eidolons because I needed them to overcome shit traces and relics because I just didnt have the energy and tracts of destiny to max everything out. And this is with me refreshing my stamina 3x per day. Its not even just characters. You’re gated by story, trailblaze level, limited materials and energy to grind for traces / relics / levels / credits).

Its terrible that after pulling a top tier dps of its time and their sig LC, I can no longer use them less than a year later in endgame content. Blade, DOT, even acheron feels mid with no Jiaoqiu already. I quit the game mid 2024 and came back around Oct/Nov, suddenly seeing my only option is for powerful teams being superbreak or Feixiao feels so bad. We used to be able to use units like Luka or Sampo even in endgame.

Blade and DOT are legitimately not great, but that Acheron take is just wrong. Of course not having her BIS support makes her weaker, but I still completed side 1 of this current MOC12 in 3 cycles with the ancient team of E0S1 Acheron, E0(S5Tutorial)Silverwolf, E6(S5Resolution) Pela, and E0(S5Trend) Fu Xuan. 4 cycles with bad RNG. Also, with the rate of release of 5-stars being 2 per patch (excluding Rappa patch) long time players are expected to have a ton of 5-star at this point, which is why most 4-stars aren't cutting it. That said, there are still videos on youtube showing MOC 4-star only or with only HMC clears, and while I can't do that, it does show that its really an investment/skill issue when people simply can't clear with a team of 5-stars. Power creep is not good, but it really just solidifies team building meta rather than stops people clearing full stop.

Instead of making Feixao, Firefly, Superbreak etc AS GOOD AS Acheron, they are making it much better. Now add on The Herta, and all the future remembrance characters, Acheron will go down again. Look at Wuthering Waves, each new character is sitting beside the old ones on the tier lists, not above. That is the issue, your HSR characters have a very limited lifespan. Your 4 cycles per side will soon turn into 5 and by that time you'll barely be 3 staring MOC, and you'll have to leave your favourite characters in the dirt.

as someone who has scratched the surface of competetive pokemon team building is very restrictive yeah thereare a lot of pokemon but even then there are the meta picks and there are team building concepts and strategies u have to play around or u will get stomped but if you compare story mode pokemon to story mode hsr yes u can build whatever you want in both games also even in the archetypes most comps have different builds there are different levels of optimum but u can still build then super break u can swap around basically any of the characters same with fallow up robin would be the only mandatory one and ratio needs debuffs, acheron has plewnty of nihility units she can swap around with if you want to be optimal then yeah there is only gonna be one option but if you want to mix stuff around and potentially challenge urself you can and the option is there

And I get it sometimes their storytelling can be an ass but I'm too invested on their lore to ditch the game Besides, I really love turn-based games so that's another reason for me to enjoy the game. HSR is heavily focused on story and lore so don't expect it to change too soon, let's just hope they reduce the amount of yap because sometimes it's too much. 2.4, 2.5 and 2.7 are great because the pacing is good and there's no unnecessary yap so I hope they do the same in 3.x

There are Chinese CC that are clearing end-game mode for players who struggle for content. This shows me that F2P players can still clear (or finish most of it) when they invest enough time and to correct character. However it's also true that your DPS will get power creep very easily in this game, but they are still usable.

I mean he is right in a way he wants the freedom to build a unit in a non meta way or team in a non meta way which I think is fine tbh. Hsr doesn’t have that level of freedom to run some older characters that are your favourite such as Kafka with units like blade you just can’t you won’t clear the end game modes and even when you use Kafka with her bis team she’s still bad so the power creeping and restricting teams is 100% a problem. It makes it feel like people can’t use their favourite units because of the fear that they aren’t good enough anymore like I wanted to pull for blade because I love his character and his kit is a cool idea but I won’t because of how bad he is as a character in meta he just won’t clear any end game modes it just stops me from pulling the characters I want to pull because the game is very meta focused and power creep is very big in this game. Like imagine your favourite character comes out and they become the worst character in the game in two patches don’t you think it’s a little unfair? Or you get the character and they won’t be good unless you pull 3 other limited character units? It’s awful to play f2p with mechanics like this in the game.

I just laugh at gacha addicts defending these companies and says, that f2p/low spenders should not be expected to have every unit. Units ARE the main content of the game and people should be able to secure bare minimum (1 copy of hero) Whales and spenders can get weapons and dupes and skins etc. This would be good for all, since company can adjust and tweak heroes after release, since technically they gave enough pulls for people to get them for free, all playerbase will have better attitude towards the game and would want to play more, whales can swipe to make these heroes stronger. The only minus is that these corporations not gonna farm so much money, which is a good thing for players too.

I went from 2 cycle in 2.6 MOC to 7 cycles in 2.7 MOC that crazy i can maybe cut it in 6 cycles if I reset enough but thats ridiculous they increased Svarog hp by 50% literally within one patch. The trotter buff is worse all around than the previous break buff that could deal better dmg like 300k+ to Svarog or 500k+ to Banana boss.

Ngl star rail for f2p experience does not feel fun, half the experience is getting mew character which get more stale, much more easily than other games due to the turn based nature. Also, the fact they force you to pull character to slot into a team rather than ones you actually like is very annoying. Additionally, e0 units don't feel as powerful anymore. Hsr if they want to continue in this way should hand out way more jades.

its pointless because if you start with fresh new dps youll clear endgame easily. Just Herta + Jade + Linghsa +1 (just any) side 1 and Aglae + rmc + robin + gal side 2 and you will easily clear (btw Herta can do 0 cycle her side at 1 cost rn so no problems to just clear it with worse relics but perfect jade + linghsa synergy). Aglae also easily 1 cycle 1 cost her side right now. The main point is not about that new player can clear it or not. Its about old players are forced to pull entire new synnergies at once because old synnergies are simply not working or working much worse than before. New player will easily get new synnergies at once with initial pulls and win the game.

It's a huge difference between 'commonly use' and 'meta'. HSR used to be fun when u could use any kind of units to clear all contents. But now, u gotta have some specific units to run MoC12, Apoc4 & newly PF4. Acheron + Jiaoqiu is the meta.

Use Himeko in MOC right now and clear Svarog or True Sting in 5 cycles or less if she is meta. The fact is people only use her in the most perfect scenarios with easy bosses like Choir and Banana troupe. Any time there is something slightly inconvenient for her which is majority of situations in the game everybody stop using Himeko. A real meta unit like say Feixiao just handles every situation even if its bad for her.
