It's so strange to me to see married couples who actually enjoy each other's presence. Like Evan and Katelyn, Rob and Corinne, Cristine and Ben (not married but still hella valid) like all these couple just genuinely enjoy being around each other and genuine don't like when the other is hurt. It's so weird but comforting to know that couples like this exist.

Yup. The buildup at the bottom of the pots should easily come off with a bit of vinegar. Also, if you don't want to put vinegar in your cooking water, you can cook normally and wipe the pots down with a bit of vinegar after every use.

@@csn583 Hmm. I'm from Austria, where the tap water has to fulfill pretty strict criteria. The pipes in our house are new too, so there can't be anything dangerous in the water, making a filtration system obsolete in my opinion. Yes, it would get rid of the deposits from limestone and chalk, but it would also get rid of beneficial minerals that our bodies need. Also, if it's not properly taken care of, the filter can turn into a breeding ground for bacteria and do more harm than good.

1:07:12 okay full disclosure I’ve done candle crafting once and I just like watching videos from Royalty Soaps and I’ve watched her make candles before. I believe candles have to “cure” for a certain amount of time (like 2 weeks or so) to increase what is called the hot throw (how much the candle releases scent as it burns) and the cold throw (the scent when it’s not lit). I cured my candles for like 4 months (kept them fully sealed with lids on and the box closed)(they were for Christmas gifts and I made them in like September: I was too excited to wait) and they are SUPER strong. So aka don’t burn your candles immediately. Let them sit for a while before you light them

For anyone curious, figured I would share... My grandmother has run a small candle business perfectly well by using a crock pot (cheap -> heat and cook mode only) and dipping in a measuring cup to pour paraffin wax. First two layers of Evans candles look like butterbaby shots. Really love katelyn's B&W candle! Love the different answers for making brown. Lol really you can just simplify it by saying..."mix the three primary colors together". Then adjust the hue from there. Just my opinion as a graphic designer and someone who mixed custom paint at Lowe's for customers. Only thing to keep in mind, is with paint it dries darker, wax dries lighter.

I used to work at a handmade candle factory. We use metal molds with a hole in the bottom for the wick. After wicking the molds we would put a squirt of oil in the mold so the candle would release easier. We would do an initial pour and then later go back when the candles were about three-quarters of the way set and use a tool which was basically two metal rods and one rod would go on each side of the wick and we would shove it all the way down in the candle so there wouldn't be any air trapped below the surface when the top of the candle shrank. We would then do a second pour to level out the top. When the candles were completely set we would cut the knot off the bottom of the mold to release the wick and then pull on the wick at the top to pull the candle out of the mold. We then had a round chunk of metal that was tapered down the middle that would sit on a hot plate which was used to make the top edge of the candle look better. A bearing race would probably work for this purpose but since it wouldn't be as deep it would have to be close to the diameter of the candle so instead of one that's somewhat universal you would need a bearing race for each size candle. You just turn the candle upside down, center it to the metal ring and touch down on it. Since it's on a hot plate, it'll melt the edges to make it look nice. Dunno if anyone would find it worthwhile to go these extra steps for a nice edge but thought I'd throw it out there anyway. Oh and pouring at the correct temperature (and technically the room shouldn't be too cold either) reduces the chance of having noticable bubbles although bubbles may not really be an issue on smaller candles. We would pour candles up to about 12" tall and 4" across. And occasional batches of large coffee can sized candles that were about 6" tall. The size you usually see with 3 wicks. Different circumference candles may require different thickness of wick if there's a big difference between them. Jar candles may need a wired wick so it doesn't flop over after an extended amount of burning time which can cause a significant amount of melted wax on top. 2" of cotton can't stand on it's own in melted wax. Well, hope that helps a little. Thanks for the fun videos!

Candle wax itself does not spoil/go rancid. However, the wax colorant and scent can, but it typically takes a long time to do so (although 6 years is a *long* time...) And it all depends how you store them. For example, a candle stored in a clean space with a lid will take a whole lot longer than the little bits of wax in your lil glasses, which I assume were stored with no special storage.

I like your videos 😊 We used to make a lot of candles when we were kids and I have two tips that might help somebody: - We used old food cans to melt the wax in and just took one tin for every color. So you don't have to clean anything between candles and it doesn't matter if the tins get messy. (Oh yes, and touched it with a cloth or oven mitten when it was hot --> safety) - Candles last/burn longer if you let them set up properly. The longer they sit, the harder the wax gets and you get more burning hours out of it so we usually waited 2-3 months before burning them. (this is true for paraffine and bee's wax, I'm not 100% sure if it applies to soy wax too).
@animeloveer972 жыл бұрын
its not safe to heat stuff in cans like that they release fumes
@1412mariLU2 жыл бұрын
@@animeloveer97 Probably depends on the cans? They are food safe and aluminium is heat resistant. The aluminium trays that are used for BBQs get a lot hotter than than the temperature you need to heat wax and are in direct contact with your food. I'd say, the fumes from burning paraffin wax candles are probably worse than that.

Candle making hack (from a friend who sells them)-use a set of takeout wooden chopsticks still attatched to eachother to hold the wick. Just slide it between the chopstick "arms" while the wax is cooling.

Complaining about metal on metal is like telling someone theyre breathing too loud

Disliking the sound of metal on metal is also the sound of never having a meal prepared anywhere around you, never getting a proper latte, never building a single goddamn thing. Jesus Harold Christ, people will always find dumb shit to complain about.
