That's the point. Africa needs to claim it's original native identity, culture, way of life in parallel with economic development. At least she came out with something factual unbiased for the first time I could remember her broadcast…. It’s often the other round about Africa, China or Muslims leaders. 😂 Remember, I love India, the people are very nice and some are just ignorant like in any country, racist to even their fellow Indians that’s sad. Your nation has a long way to go too unlike many countries in Africa. I can’t be a bias to any nation or it’s people like must of the people outside Africa do when comes to Africa. Your nation has attained a high level of progression in many areas, especially in technology, transportation, the Metros routes which your government is still investing in heavily… construction of new routes in Greater Noida region and many other areas, education etc that’s an obvious fact to anyone who lives in India even for a while likewise many countries in Africa, the difference is, many of you tend to see only what’s being shown to you in media about Africa. There’s still a great battle ahead of your nation to address many societal challenges, the adaptive challenges are indeed dragging you back. The unimaginable opportunity gap between “classes” as you call them, there are many potential, creative young people plenty in your streets who could become the cream of your societies but they lack the opportunities to grow themselves due to many factors among which is the deep rooted social isolation. Some are minorities in their own motherland which is very sad. There’s nothing like class of people in African countries, a poor could become rich with hard work and determination, no social structures or what so ever hinders other groups from attaining their full potentials in African countries. There was a day I vividly remember in one of the best engineering institute, it was India’s Independence day where foreigners in the University celebrated the Independence with Indians but there were some native who weren’t among, they were in hard labour cleaning, sweeping, clearing etc and they didn’t join the celebration because they are low class, the hard labour working society. This particular incident broke me 😢 as I couldn’t get it at all. One of my friend told me he hides his class because if his colleagues kneel it, they won’t befriend him, eat or be with them. Must of the poor people in your country, according to my Dalit friend, remain poor for the rest of their lives In streets, begging and living in slums. I have seen a lot of that in my stay in Rotini sector 16/17 in the capital for that matter. These are things you will never find in the Africa i know, not the Africa many of you are forced to see in the media with children starving… I wonder if the media algorithms no longer function in changing the narratives every time the same pictures, sufferings, etc when Africa is the topic 😢 it has misled many about Africa. In Africa, everyone is fit in the society.

by the time gen Z reach the age of 50, life will teach them a lot of lessons and they will be tamed down. In the teens even I used to behave like a gen Z, when life hits hard evrything can be tamed

50 is too far. In Africa by 25 you already know how hard life hits

@@itsTheTruthTeller😂😂So true! When you live with your parents and they buy you data and airtime what do you do? You dance, twerk and make pranks. Then your parents get old and tired then boot you out, the cold of the night and the scorching sun of the day hits you hard and you begin to think faaar and wide.

That joblessness is what has changed the minds of many Africans to become entrepreneurs. Myself (a Bachelor's degree holder) had no job so i created a business for myself. Example Nigerians, with a very high rate of unemployment, the younger population resulted in creating jobs for themselves by creating businesses in and out of the country. Example is CEO of Calendly, CEO of Flutterwave technology, CEO of Paystack, among hundreds of others. Forget what the narratives says, African nations are becoming something else, under the guise of the negative narrative we always had, Africa will take us all by surprise. They choose to be loud about it only in the entertainment sector, yeah because you need to be loud to make it in that sector... But they are also making it in other sector, JUST NOT LOUD about it 😅. Quite tricky for me .

Interesting insights Palki. I'd take the youthquake phenomenon with cautious optimism for Africa, until a collective, deliberately purposed political and economic philosophy emerges. The current foundations of corruption-riddled governance ethos worries me to the core. Our love for luxury and gadgets that we know nothing about how they are made is a strange ego. I hope it will mend in time for Gen Z to thrive. The qualities and attributes of Gen Z are as we see them now, not when reality teaches them serious life lessons. They will not afford to be woke or impatient when survival situations demand care and patience. No shortcuts will work. Their future is actually a minefield and there cannot be quick-fix, knee-jerk and spontaneity in approach.
