John in New York is correct. The first problem with Bitcoin is that its only very weak use case is stored value. The next big problems are transaction time and energy consumption. It's not going to be a currency. It's going to act as gold, which basically sits at home and you use it for when you're ready to retire. Anyone who knows anything about Bitcoin knows that it has one of the worst technology for real-world implementation and it's volatility will never allow it to replace fiat. The costs are ridiculously high and the speeds are slower than a turtle. There are far better currencies out there e.g. Ethereum, Litecoin, or even XRP as they are actually designed for real world transactions and are about a million iterations ahead of Bitcoin tech. In fact, ETH has around 4 times the developers and many more projects in the pipeline. Bitcoin is just the first but without a doubt the worst as a technology.

Congrats. :) I hope you kept some in BTC at least. Another way to take profits without losing Bitcoin % gains is to use Celsius or Blockfi to take out a loan using your Crypto as collaterol. You don't need a credit check, and when you pay back the loan fully, you get back your Bitcoin and keep any gains that were made. Also, there are many decentralized financial instruments that have been built on Ethereum, that offer % returns on your Cryptocurrency itself. So, you can earn X% on your Ether, which is compounded then by exchange rates should they increase. For the MAJORITY of your Crypto though, you just want to put in and hold it for as long as possible. On average, that outperforms any sort of day-trading or trying to time the market. And finally... when the miners supply halving happens every 4 years(ish) that is the BEST time you can buy, as that signals the end of the bear market, and the cycle shifting to bullish.

Bitcoin is virtual and technically nothing other than some values being assigned after complex mathematical computations. Its value comes from its demand, however its demand is artificial (believe me exchanges keep on generating volume by buying the same bitcoins again and again using other cryptocurrencies such as USDT which is also created by a click of a button and is not backed 1:1 against the dollar, these transaction at the exchanges are never public or recorded on the blockchain unless moved from one wallet to another). When price goes up, people FOMO and get in, and debate the financial crash of the dollar, while they are still measuring their profits in the US dollar, which they don’t believe in (the dollar) in the first place. The blockchain as a technology is great, but cryptocurrency is not the solution to financial problems. When ever real regulation tries to get in, why does it effect the market, coz exchanges start worrying and start taking their robbed profits. It is a gamble on steroids, and the house are the exchanges, remember you may win a few times but at the end the house will eventually take your profits. Be careful, and invest in the real store of value called GOLD (physical)
