Will Buxton has to be one of the nicest guys in the paddock…literally watched him from the grandstands at the Singapore GP talking to fans off camera…and also promise a Charles fan that he’d get her plushie pillow of Leo to him 😊 can’t wait to read that book! Also cake in a can - Will needs to try it in japan 😊

I’m so glad I watched this, it kept popping up in my recommended! I never understood why people were so hard on Will because of DTS and then hearing him talk about how much it’s affected him mentally is a bit heartbreaking to be perfectly honest. people really do not understand that the things they post online affect others - society has become so dehumanized because we view everything through a screen and have so much less person-to-person interaction. I don’t know who the author is but I have a large F1 coffee table book and maybe some day when I finally have my own place I’ll be able to add whatever the current version of Will’s is ~with~ Lando’s chapter 😉

Thank you for this great entertaining podcast on Will Buxton. Up to now, I was always happy when Laura Winter did the show before and after the race, because I was proud to have a knowledgeable, warm, great woman there (don't have one like that in Germany yet). But: Now I will be just as happy with Will Buxton, because I know what a nice guy he is and how much he cares about our favourite sport and the people in it. One of my earliest memories of Formula one is from the period that F1 was not called formula one yet. It was when I saw some photos of racing cars in my father’s atelier. They were shot by Jacques Henri Lartigue and the cars had oval wheels because they were going very very fast. And… even more importantly.. they were going the right way… coming from the left to the right side of the sheet. Because our direction of reading, in the western world, is from left to right. The cars were going somewhere, from the beginning to the last page; the Finnish. But aside from that they were in Black and white, the cars were stretched because the camera’s shutterspeed could not keep up with the speed of the cars. The pictures were FANTASTICALLY exiting. Lartigue was probably the first racing car photographer that was able to create a fan-base for the sport by showing pictures.

I am also a fan because I raced my Dinky Toys in Al beautiful colors. The colors were not driver- or manufacturer related but related to the country of origin. The English cars were in dark green, the French cars in Blue Royal, the Italian cars were bright red and the German cars were in silver. The drivers that I saw on track were Jim Clark and Graham Hill racing at Zandvoort.

So interesting hearing from Will. I so enjoy his enthusiasm on F1 tv - no one can do a grid walk like Will. I don’t understand why celebrities read social media comments- they need to humanize the person who wrote the comment. Anyone writing mean comments is not someone you’d give the time of day to if you met them. You certainly wouldn’t give credit to their views. So why take any truth from their comments? It will just steal your joy, Will. Don’t read it!!

I find it ironic that he talks about the struggle of being criticized yet he has no problem mocking George and Daniel. To call George out for being fake? Maybe he’s protecting himself from showing his true self. Or maybe that is his true and quirky self? Either way, out of line. Drivers are under way more pressure than he is and he should be more mindful of his own words especially if he knows how it feels.

I want Lando to win this title badly, but when you really think about it, he should already be ahead. I mean by the season’s end, the RedBull will have only been fastest for 20% of the reason… so it will be a bit ridiculous if Lando doesn’t win. 🤷‍♂️

Oracle RedBull Racing's now 'asymetric braking systemless' Max Verstappen. . .it'll be all the same to me and probably many others internationally. It's a UK based podcast, they don't claim to be otherwise. If it's truly global, where are the broadcasters from other countries, dont you view or listen to them? Self fulfilling prophecy here, is this not self inflicted, you ensure you only get a UK based POV, then complain about it, or do other countries not in fact report on F1?
