You may have jumped the gun with this topic. Three Sultans have indicated in royal addresses that corruption would not be tolerated, with the YDPA himself making the case on grounds from the Koran. In my opinion this as done to preempt any move to request for an early pardon hearing. Now despite this, the government could have pushed the pardons board to convene before parliament was dissolved, but chose not to because there are still pending cases. Najib may be found guilty of any one or all of these remaining cases and you would be back to square one requiring yet another pardon. There could also be a severe backlash in the elections if any pardon was granted at this time. I am assuming that the YDPA "shall" follow the advice of the pardons board. As a side note, if Najib has to admit guilt and remorse as a prerequisit for a pardon then there will be no pardon anytime soon.

I'm a fan. I've watched almost all of your videos. Your legal arguments are always sound and on point. But, as Najib's pardon would be political, all sound logic and principles governing the process of pardon, for all intents and purposes, would be thrown to the winds should the government in power find it expedient to do so. Precisely that his pardon is political, would a BN government under Zahid pardon Najib? The narratives now from the Court Cluster seem to favor a pardon for him. But will Zahid do so once he is firmly in control of the government and Umno? A free and unencumbered Najib would be a serious threat not only to Zahid's authorities but his positions as president of Umno and PM. No sane crook would commit such a kamikaze.
