I was using my car for work and I didn't have commercial insurance when my accident happened. So my insurance wasn't able to cover me and was denied coverage. Is gap insurance going to cover me for that? I'm in the state of California. But my 3rd party insurance was from Amazon and they basically give me commercial insurance. I want to get a lawyer for this but is it necessary?

This coverage on insurance policies will vary quite a bit carrier to carrier. Best to reach out directly to your agent and see.

If I'm at fault in the accident will GAP still pay the remainder of my loan? And I have Allstate , would they send me a check or will it go to GAP?

You would need to call your insurance agent and ask them as it can vary from carrier to carrier. However, GAP insurance is usually used to cover the remaining loan amount if your vehicle is totaled in an accident and you still owe on your vehicle loan.

If I continued paying the balance of my loan after the settlement check will gap send me the money back?

Thanks for the question! Honestly, it will most likely depend on the carrier and how they handle the claim. Every insurance company handles things a little differently. We always recommend talking to your agent or claims representative to get a clear answer!

Does gap insurance cover the gap between what my insurance doesn’t cover and help me get another car ?

Gap insurance only helps cover the amount still owed on your vehicle loan if its totaled in an accident. So if your car is totaled in an accident, but you still owe $10K on the loan, gap insurance will cover the remaining loan amount. Hope this helps!
