Will Human Retinas Be Able to Regenerate?

I had 2 retina detachments and as a result of my surgeries at Wills Eye hospital, my vision went from 20 20 to 20 200. I never needed glasses but after retina detachment surgeries I now need glasses, and still cannot see well in my right eye. I would love for my retina to regenerate and be able to see well again.

Most retina research labs only focus on genetic and/or inherited retinal diseases. But that what about people, that who had completely lost their sight, because of diabetic retinopathy? Yes, it's controlled in the earlier stages, but in the advanced stages, such as mine, because of prescribed growth hormone treatment, that which caused my type 2 diabetes, as well as pan-hypopituitarism, that which means damage to my pituitary gland and my hypothalamus in my case, you're going to need to investigate stem cell thherapies on diabetic retinopathy models, like it or not.

This gives me hope also. I have a injury to my left eye and because of my swelling it hurt my retina. I have a circle of no vision in my left eye but I still have my peripheral. Believe it our not that is 20/20 still. If this works on humans if would give me my vision back

Gene Therapy was mentioned in Metal Gear Solid 1998 it's Been Decades in the making and still Not available Realistically to the masses anyway even stem cell therapy is still a Taboo subject as far as success Rates and costs Not to mention availability i just Hope things progress faster with Regards to offering these Therapy 😈

So far as i heard is that mammalia’s have the same genes to regenerate just like zebrafish. But the genes of mammalia’s are turned off so our retina’s don’t regenerate but we have the genes. They try to find a way to reset the biological clock and turn the genes “on” in mice they have succeeded. www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-03403-0

I would be suprised if it is anytime soon that this treatment will go public. To be honest I expect it to be 7-10 years from now if all goes well. From what I know about Clinical Trials is that they start with simple Cells. Then Animals. Than they wait for a year or two and see what happens. I think they are at this stage currently. If those trials are positive than they move on to Phase 2a. Thats seems to be a trial with only a few brave test subjets and very small dose. Than they wait a year or two to see if there are any complications. If everything is OK they move on to Phase 2b with more people (like 80). And than they wait again a year or two. Only then they will move on to a big Trial phase with a very large test group and use a full dose. Only then they will go public with their treatment. If you are suffering from RP = Retinis Picmentosa than have a look at this research.
