I said it was sucking something in inside the tank also . Had one with a stick in the tank , someone had been checking the level and dropped it in , once the level was low it would get sucked into the dip pipe and stall the engine. Took some finding . It's a game innit. Bloody good show that man

If you put the fuel return line in to a bucket. You can see if it’s airating the fuel. This giving you a answer of air in fuel.

if you do jcb again cut a 45 angle on bottom of the stack pipe so if filter goes up it can still get diesel

Got to start at the source lol, keep it simple Chris, shit is still in the tank though Chris, if the pipe isn’t already, then cut the pick up pipe at an angle or drill a hole into the pipe close to the bottom, so if/when the gauze slides up the pipe it can still draw fuel, providing strainer is close to ok. On that Deutz engine, it’s the fuel pumps you can see, injectors are in the Rocker cover, plus there is a pressurised non return valve on the return pipe off the engine block.

we had a wagon towed out of Dartford tunnel brakes came on cost a fortune. when i got down there it was pipe come out range change switch on gear stick driver said it had been getting worse for an hour and he could hear it getting louder in gearknob he was the knob

The foam problem with the radiators is from the tips , they call it fluff . EMR mince up cars and anything that's not metal is sent to landfill. So seats , plastics etc loads of foam in the seats

Be honest Chris you must feel better now that your vans been tidied out a bit. Please please please get yourself a night heater fitted now whilst it's warm, you'll love it in the winter months, never defrost a screen, get in a warm van, warm your hands, just get it done

The tank needs emptying and cleaning out if there is that much shit clogging the filter and when you stick that gauze back on that pipe only just push it on and then when you lower the sender back in the filter gauze will touch the bottom of the tank and the metal pipe will slide into it to the correct height

True story about drivers not thinking for themselves! And I’m sure coach drivers are the worst. Amount of times they phone me up with let’s say a warning light on. I ask have they checked levels, Belts etc or tried a systems reset. No is generally the answer. I think the maddest one I had was one who was down in the alps and got to the motorway and set off over height alarms because of snow built up on the roof, phones up - I’m like what on gods Green Earth do you expect me to do about it 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
