@shivasurya70085 жыл бұрын
Well wrong with calling sir?
@costakeith90485 жыл бұрын
@@shivasurya7008 It's a bit too familiar, if you're his law clerk you might call him sir, if you meet the judge at a social function you might call him 'Your Honor' when you first meet him and then 'sir' thereafter, but if you're standing in front of him as a defendant you should probably show proper deference and call him 'Your Honor.' With that said, few judges will actually hold it against you if you call them sir and they certainly won't hold it against you if you're a visibly frightened foreigner unfamiliar with our social customs. We Americas are a lot more relaxed when it comes to these things than the British are, but all the same it's kinda funny to see a guy who is literally bowing before the judge refer to him using a more familiar title.
@dakillah60185 жыл бұрын
Only real niggas talk with such respect . Calling someone "Sir" is very soothing and brings Peace into the mind of the people . Calling somebody "Sir" proves you know wassup and that you are real that you respect and understand God and his creations . In the Greek Army we call everybody "Sir" . Because it reminds to the people that they must stay focused, clean and agile as a man that deserves to be called a "Sir" .
@costakeith90484 жыл бұрын
@Vect0r It toned down a bit from the traditional honorific of 'Your Excellency,' but, by American custom, only Gen. Washington is 'His Excellency.' Even our ambassadors aren't styled as 'Their Excellencies,' in fact, I believe American ambassadors are the only ones on earth who reject this style in favor of 'The Honorable,' every other countries ambassadors are referred to as 'Your Excellency.' However, I do believe a few states, such as Virginia and Massachusetts, still refer to their governors as 'His Excellency' in formal settings. It's really a rather modest style and was chosen for precisely that reason, certainly more modest than Your Excellency, Your Lordship, Your Grace, Your Eminence, Your Holiness, Your Highness, Your Royal Highness, Your Majesty, etc.
