When I did a daily vlog I found myself having a few problems... I was spending too much time editing. I found it stressful. I found myself doing shit just to have content for the vlog. I had dilemmas about when it was cool to record with friends etc or whether it was invading there privacy. Do you have these problems? How do you handle the friends thing? I find it embarrassing to ask sometimes. BTW is your work cool with that little time-lapse or did you just go ahead and assume its cool? Enjoying the vids lol. Would enjoy some insight 😜 I have since unlisted alot of my vlogs and clogs

Hey Rob. Thanks for watching and commenting! I get what you’re saying about spending too much time editing. How long were you spending at it? I have to be really disciplined, I’d often start editing early enough, and I’d make sure no matter what, I stopped at about 10/10:30pm. So that way, I either had to be finished, or finish the following morning. I ended up getting a lot quicker with editing that way. As far as vlogging around family and friends, I told them what I was doing and just asked if they wanted to be in it or not. I told them it was no hassle either way. Some were happy to feature and others didn’t want to. I was awfully embarrassed telling I was vlogging when I was starting out. But over time I found as more of my friends became aware of my channel, I didn’t get embarrassed anymore. As far as sharing vs invasion of privacy goes, I’m not sure I can help you too much there. I think that’s a fairly personal decision. But what I would say as a general rule of thumb, if in doubt, cut it out. If you’re worried that something is too personal for your vlogs, chances are it is. However I think that after a while you get used to what you’re happy enough to share and you’ll have a good handle on that as you’re filming. I didn’t ask for permission to film in work, but I didn’t show any of my colleagues or my office really. So it’s not a problem. But if I started to show more, I’d need to get permission first. I hope this gives you some insight into my process. If making videos is something you enjoy, I hope you stick at it. It’s tough at the start, but all of the awkwardness goes away the more you do it and all you’re left with is the fun stuff! Keep going Rob!

@@ronanhutchinson yah cool thanks ronan. interesting stuff. i guess in some ways i found the lack of views (about 40-80 per vlog) pretty discouraging when you counter it with the amount of work required. i moved to latvia in april actually to work as a game show host on deal or no deal Live lol, i've recorded some vlogs here that i have to get round to editing. not even sure if i was too publish at this stage or keep em to myself. embarrasment was an issue for me also lol, but overall i don't think people pay as much attention to you as you do to yourself so it's all good. anyway i'll keep watching man, well done. i was actually at that event in dublin that casey went to that you gave em footage for and ended up blowing up from lol. small world

You’re dead right about other people not paying as much attention as we do ourselves! That’s awesome about working on Deal or No Deal! Fair play to ya, that’s amazing! Are you from Latvia? You should edit the vlogs just for yourself. Even if you never post them, I always feel a great sense of achievement when I finish a video.

@@ronanhutchinson yah I'm gonna try upload a couple of times per month again. No I'm from meath lol but it's in English thankfully so I'm all good. Flying home tonight for a few days for the first time in six months which will be nice. Another question. When you walk around in public talking to a camera in a shopping centre or something how embarrassing do you find it. I used to find it excruciating hahaha 🤣🙈

Yeah I’d love to be in a position to stick with daily, but it’s just not feasible right now.
