Will Israel Go Into Rafah?

President Biden's threat to withhold weapons from Israel if it stages a large operation to clear Hamas from the city of Rafah is causing a political backlash in the U.S., including among some Democrats. Will Israel go ahead anyway, and should it?

Israel has no choice but to occupy Rafah. This is the only way to ensure that no more weapons enter Gaza from Egypt, that no more massacre like happened on 7.10 will happen, and to release the hostages. Those who oppose the occupation of Rafah are either in favor of Hamas or have no understanding of the issue. And that includes the president of the United States and his administration.

The report Blinken refers to is the result of an executive order issued In February when Israel withdrew most of its units from Gaza…a report intentionally designed to indict Israel with the goal of a no-fly zone being imposed.
