Cubes are amazing! You can tell it's a good amp by the amount of noodling he does with it, with other tests he'll just play like it's business, with this he plays for the fun and that means it's good enough to capture the user and have them enjoying themselves almost immediately

@@electricmeatpuppet First, it's an amp period. Meaning you can do whatever you like with it, not talking about this version by the way, talking about roland cubes in general which went up to 80 watts, don't know what's the current range to be honest. So yes, wouldn't hesitate for a second gigging with a cube. I have quite a few vintage modulation pedals, original CE2, 70's Mistress and Small Stone and so on and never had any issues throwing them in the signal path with this amp, like I said, it takes anything an more and still sounds pretty good and clear, takes fuzzes, OD, you name it.
@wea69420
@wea69420 5 жыл бұрын
@@frmadeira most mod pedals, particularly vintage ones, were made to be put in front of the amp. Feeding a delay pedal into the pre amp of a high gain sound will sound shit 90% of the time, so for the most part you're stuck with the delays and reverbs that are built in.

@@stevestevestevesteve6466 Uh, yeah they can. Mic'd or direct-lined through the Mixer and PA system, you can use just about anything - even just a pedalboard with NO amp (direct). For shits and giggles, in the late 90's, I used a small 'Crate' practice amp in the band I was in here and there. We direct-lined it out with a pedal or two and it held it's own against everything else in the band (bass amp and Marshall stack). Anyone who has done even a handful of gigs (if ANY) already knows this.

The only issue I've had with it is the pot on the master volume is sorta janky. I get great metal tone on the rec channel - turning the gain just about to full and dialing back the tone to 3/4.

Roland make great solid state amps! I own an older Roland cube 15 and it has never let me down. You can find them cheaper than you would think and they rock. I have been playing on it for over 15 years. Sounds great when paired up with a tube amp, makes things tighter in the bass region. The little push button selector switch will get dirty over time, so just but some C.R.C. electronics components cleaner, and spray it every now and then.

Ok this video totally makes me want another micro cube. I used to have the “mini 4x12” RX version but the damn connections break and it was too expensive to get it fixed. Besides, to my ears the single speaker sounds better than the 4 tinny... uhh... tiny speakers in the RX.

The xtreme model almost makes me want to get one of these, the Vox equivalent is overall better but sucks for high gain. Classically the Microcube Rectifier sound was ridiculously scooped, can't remember if it sounded better when I tried one(I ignored the Xtreme assuming it to be the same but worse)

I was doing prao (or whatever work practice was called in Sweden) at a music store in Gothenburg when the original microcube came out, and recall it sounding awesome for such a small thing. Later when I moved back to Finland my school had the bigger 60 watt version of it, which was even better thanks to the bigger speaker.

My first amp with built in distortion was a Roland cube 20 I believe. It didn't have the acoustic simulator, delay, flanger, or any other effects except clean and distortion. I really love the Metal stack setting on it!!! It chugged and was awesome!!

I owned a small Roland Cube amp many years ago and it was really good....obviously solid state but it chugged and had a few Boss effects built in and a Reverb and was built like a German tiger tank....good amps....

If it's good bud a half o could sell for like 100$, which is the brand new price of this amp, so I'd say it's a good deal

Hey Ola, you just made me glad I invested in a pretty dynamic Amp. Yeah bro, I put it in the deep with the bass. But it's great to incorporate sounds on my "Loop Station". This Micro and loop station have me hooked. I didn't realize how much I knew. Thanks for reinforcing that. UG!
