The Lego Airplane Simulator is a functional aviation simulator made entirely out of Lego bricks. The simulator features a joystick and pedals for control and a monitor for visuals. The question is, can it actually fly? The answer is no, the Lego Airplane Simulator is not capable of actual flight. It is a stationary simulator that provides a realistic aviation experience in a Lego format. Nevertheless, it is a unique and fun project that demonstrates the creative possibilities of Lego.

@@greyhoundindustries4386 Nothing controversial about it. A plane needs airspeed to take off. Airspeed is the difference in speed between the wings and the air around it. Put simply, a plane will not take off from a treadmill that is stationary.

It doesn't take off because the prop doesn't produce enough thrust, the treadmill is irrelevant. Float planes take off from fast moving bodies of water without a problem.

brooo, you need airflow for liftoff, air moved by the propeller is like 5% of what's needed for flight, for airflow you have to move the whole plane fast enough, moving ground is moving ground, it doesnt create as much airflow (it creates cuz friction but it's so small it wouldn't be even noticable.)

Airflow. It's not moving through the air. Airplanes don't fly because their wheels are spinning. The wings need air flowing over and under them. You need a WIND TUNNEL, not a treadmill. And once you get that part right, you're STILL going to need to shape the wings like an airfoil! Curved and smooth on top, flat and smooth on the bottom. What you are doing now is like running a LEGO boat's screws on a treadmill and asking why it won't sail. The boat needs to be surrounded by water to even attempt to float and sail. A plane needs air moving past the wings to even attempt to fly. Cars can drive on treadmills, boats can sail on water, planes need to move through AIR to fly.

Short answer: No. Long answer: Zero relative air speed. Also, your left aileron was down with the right aileron correspondingly up. Even if you could take off you would have flipped it over & gone straight into the ground. Please surrender your pilot's licence at your nearest Aviation Authority office.

Fun fact: The plane can actually fly but You need to use a real plane to launch it. Despite its incredibly poor aerodynamics, it is possible to make it fly, although if the glide coefficient is extremely poor it is possible to do it for a few seconds. Some servos and a parachute are required.

Again, you need a wind tunnel, not a treadmill. The wheels don't make an airplane fly. You can spin the wheels as fast as you like, and even gear them to the propeller to make it spin. But as long as that treadmill is pulling backwards on the plane, and preventing it from moving forward freely in the AIR, that plane will never fly. NO plane would ever fly like that. It needs to move relative to the wind, which means its propeller needs to move independently of the ground, which means you need a motor in it. Your planes can't fly because there is NO AIRFLOW past the wings. They are STATIONARY. The friction from the treadmill and the gears on the propeller are pulling it back, and the string is holding the plane forward, and it is not moving. Imagine if you wore rollerskates on the treadmill and held on. No matter how fast you run that treadmill, you're NOT going to skate forward unless YOU skate with your legs. If you just hold on, you will remain stationary on the treadmill. Right? Your planes need an engine to move forward in the air. You need a wind tunnel so the air flows over and below the wings. And frankly, your wings need an airfoil shape. You still don't have one. There is a reason LEGO airplanes don't fly. And your planes being dragged toward being motionless on a treadmill will NEVER fly.

Ground speed has nothing to do with air speed, that was just a high speed taxi test. Put it on front of a giant fan and with enough air speed you might get enough impact lift to make it lift, but no airfoil shape no dynamic lift
