it metals... i would use a noise supressor on the chain. telecasters have this twangy sound that makes them unique and even on metal i think its cool

The only so called "twang" is because of the way people play it, been playing mine for almost 16 years, I can't afford no strat and this guitar was handed down to me and have been playing metal on it and blues since then and love it, theres no twang at all thats just a made up word by people that think teles are ment for country music only

With all due respect, I thought the Tele sounded fairly nice while the PRS was absolute rubbish. That snappy, twangy tone from the Tele bridge pickup has a really modern metal sound to it which I think can be pretty cool. Just my opinion of course.

I've always liked the sound of a metal distorted tele. Roll back the tone nob to smooth it out a little, but keep enough of the bite so it still snarls. With the right pedal these things can be absolute beasts.

I've been using a Telecaster copy with stock single coil pickups for various styles of Metal. A noise gate is highly recommended, especially if you are doing riffs with a lot of "starts-and-stops". But they sound great, nice and crisp. I also recommend rolling back the tone control just a touch.

I never liked the aesthetics of the Telecaster in the past, and I never bothered to consider one. Well, after many years, I finally tried one out - holy smokes. For me, it is one of the most comfortable guitars I have ever played, despite that big slab body. I love its simplicity. I love that there are kits galore if one so desires to make mods. And they can truly rock. Love these "ugly" things now, there really is beauty in their form and function. I have two. Awesome. Nice video.

I’m just starting out and shopping for my first guitar, and I was shocked how comfortable the telecaster felt immediately. Even weirder, the strat felt like all edges and slippery. Maybe it’s because I’m fat. Anyway, landed on a Squier Telecaster Classic Vibe ‘70s Custom. Looking forward to learning on this thing.

I'm still quite a beginner in guitar tones, so whoever reads this do not take it as an expert's opinion. But hell. That razor sharp bridge pickup at 05:14... I have the same setup with an addition of a Summit Audio EQP-200B on that chain before I hit my ProTools. I'd like to know how it sounded on your system on playback. On this video playback I heard a difference between the Paul Reed and American Standard Telecaster. The Paul Reed had the advantage of a fuller sound, judging from my iMac speakers. But seriously, how did you find the comparison between the two in your studio on playback? Thanks for sharing this video. It rocks.

Fellas... I'm looking to play basically every genre (mostly hard rock and metal, but I do play a lot more). I don't have enough money for a Fender Tele. I've played a Squier Tele and it was great. Is it the right choice or should I keep looking? (I have a budget of 200 American dollars)

Squier's quality has skyrocketed over the years. Back in the mid 90's and early 2000's, they were pretty mediocre, but I've played more modern Teles that have the same level of quality as Mexican made ones. They felt and played just the same as mine. The only difference I noticed between them and the US made ones is that the American ones had a nicer finish, a bit better tuners, and nicer pickups, but the latter two are easy to upgrade.
