I’m 16 years old and i was giving a Fergie and I rebuilt the entire field system with all new injectors, all new pipes and new pump, for someone with no mechanical experience prior to the project ive got to say its very easy and self explanatory.

You timed her up to 30 degrees on the engine but made no mention of the orientation of the pump and just put it on, my question would be is there a king spline on the drive for the pump or is there a certain position the pump needs to be before fitting, I have got this job to do on my father's t20 this week 😉

I was decompressing the engine with one hand and mechanically engaging the starter motor with the other. Nothing is linked up correctly currently.

It releases the pressure from the cylinders which allows the engine to get turning over well. When you drop it in you get full compression in the engine and fingers crossed she fires. Thanks

A lesser-known secondary function of a decompression valve is to make your motorcycle an absolute sod to bump start in the arse end of nowhere when your accessories have overwhelmed the generator and you run out of electricity mid ride 😁
