I was 10yrs old when my dads cousin stopped by the house in his new gold 64 Riviera, to give my dad a ride. It had the 425 with the dual quad intake and when they left the curb, it was white smoke and tire marks all the way up the street. Course I was hooked..

Go see Vice Grip Garage, they all copy Derek down to the tools , fuel and words!
@hippydippy Жыл бұрын
@@glennstatham960 Gimme a break! I love watching Derek, but the only thing that this guy does like Derek is get's old car's running again (like a million other people), many who have no idea what KZbin even is. He doesn't use any of the words or corny phrase's Derek does. Tools & Fuel? Like he should invent his own or something?
@bobzelijah Жыл бұрын
I agree Glenn Statham in part but the actual reason I reckon why Vice Grip Garage subscriptions took off is when he drove his ‘Will it run’ cars 7 to a 1000 k’s home. If Steve did this I think it will peak subscriber interest. Derek puts a lot thought and planning into his ‘will it run will it drive’ content and gets the rewards for his and his family’s efforts. Steve’s a great knowledgeable car guy.

My father bought a 63 Riviera new and it was the most beautiful car I’d ever seen. It turned heads wherever we went. I took my drivers test in this car and used to steal it from my parents at every opportunity and I’d make the scene in it. I wish I had one in my collection now. The 63 had a 445 Wildcat engine and there was no car that could touch this car off the line. It was a real gas hog getting around 15 mpg. But the gas for it at the AMOCO station was 42,9 cents per gallon for the premium stuff. It’s so sad to see that car in such a decrepit condition.

Makes it look easy ( which it isn’t of course ). I’d love to see another video on this car, and perhaps some other land yachts.
