I have been buying 50 and 150cc Chinese specials to ride and play with, I have got scooters just like yours where they didnt start, Im new at troubleshooting but all the way through the video I was spot on, troubleshooting exactly what you did until you pulled the engine apart and fixed the valve, so I learned much more from this video, thanks for the logical tutorial and keep it up
@scootersonlyrepair5102 жыл бұрын
I never understood why people "fix" these engines. I.e. if you bent the valves you'd get a new one and install it in the old head. The a complete head for gy6 is $18 and to fix the old one is going to take at least an hour. So unless you're paying your mechanics $9 an hour it's cheaper to just replace the whole head

49cc Gy6 engines always come with the valves too tight I had to do valve adjustments to 50 atm50 scooters in 2 days straight out of the crate. We would sell them without touching the engine besides adding oil. Customers would return about 50 miles later with no start scooters. 😒 after rebuilding and replacement of 6 carbs I decided to try the valves and alas too tight. Adjustments made it fired right away. I never assembled any out of the crate without adjusting the valves first.

5:40 It have CVK carb. Is not enough open when throttle is turned open. Its slide is in the lower position. 6:30 Sometimes carbon from piston stuck in to valve seat. Medicine for that is rotating engine untill pressure come back. That one had lot of it. When engine does not start, take carb off if it have blue-white sparks. Right now that bike is getting too much air. Few other notes ... That is the org IceBear, gages suck, tire is a bit too wide for turns and over all parts are hard to get ... @@perfectcell7995 What did you do for gearing? Did you run stock or did you change them out? I have been doing research all day and there in no good information available! Looks like I will be buying all of the gear ratios and making a video soon!
@perfectcell79953 жыл бұрын
@@PraskaBoysGarage are you talking about the CVT transmission gearing or the rear gears behind the transmission if you're talking about the rear gears you can just go with stock I don't know of many reliable options for upgraded rear gears these days Scrappy dog had some before they closed down but I don't know anywhere reliable these days.
@PraskaBoysGarage3 жыл бұрын
@@perfectcell7995 I guess I don't know about the CVT gearing other than the variator weights for tuning. I talking specifically in the rear gears that control the output shaft. In my research I have found ratios from 2.25 - 3.47 and I think I will order all of them and do a time test to see which is the best to get.

Can you swap stator types on 110cc
@PraskaBoysGarage3 жыл бұрын
If you mean between the 2 coil vs a 6 coil, you can't unless you also change the stator cover as well.
@zakwinn58485 ай бұрын
Yes don't use the orange coil it did not like mine and it started to heat my wire harness up

I'd toss a Chinese 150cc gy6 in there... Maybe even a 170cc big bore Kit. I've got one in a generic Chinese atv and she screams and rips like a beast without even doing any cvt mods. Great scoots! I'd rather have one of those than a real Honda Ruckus!

That's the plan for my unit if I can find the right motor mount bracket! Might need to sell a couple projects to fund the new scooter addiction!
@scootersonlyrepair5102 жыл бұрын
Especially since most idiots pull the quality water cooled honda engine to add a pos gy6. Save the money and start with a gy6 bike. This stretched lowered fakeruk is $1700 new a stocks ruckus is $ 2300 before taxes and fees

It looks just like a gy6
@PraskaBoysGarage3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the motor is a GY6 specifically the 139QMB. Q=GY6 and the MB=50cc. I've been looking online at pictures to see what it might take to swap a 150cc into and it appears to use a top mount for the engine.

The only thing i dont like about the icebears is the dual rear shocks, should be single or it looks wrong.

I agree with you! I have found that the older generations are dual shock but the newer generations have a single shock. The white one I will be working on next for the channel is the single shock look.
