You guys could have a TV show .. seriously. A couple scruffy guys finding a beat up car and restoring it for very little money would resonate well with working class people in North America. Thanks for posting these, I really love seeing old cars get a new life.

ithakra Hey thanks! A TV show might be fun, but I don't really see it happening. My purpose is kind of to show the TV shows how it can be done with no money and without buying any new parts. Who's going to sponsor that? I'd rather have enough subscribers on KZbin to allow me to do this full-time on my own terms... Tell your friends! haha... Cheers from all of us here at CWMC!

Back in October 1958, the day before the showing for the first time, of the 1959 Chevrolet, my girlfriend, who's father owned a Chevy dealership took me to the secret hiding place of the car that was to be featured the next day. A 1959 Chevrolet Impala 2 dr. hardtop. Was like sitting in the cockpit of an airplane for me.

Nice Job on the old Chevrolet. Down here in the state's I have a salvage yard and a land clearing service and junk hauling service plus a small trucking outfit.I get lots of old cars and trucks given to me to haul away when clearing out properties.I'm set up to haul them without titles just bill's of sales. Because Really if a car has been setting since say 1967, the title has disappeared long since. On the rarest occasion they will have a title and the person on it's dead. But I get some running and driving again and the rear I part out.I also got lots of frame off restoration rigs setting out here and Good intention project cars and trucks that ended terribly. Vehicles that were nice and running but a idiot 28th a box of tools and no knowledge got into it to far and realised they were into far over their heads.I've got 30acres full of bunkers and fitters. The good stuff sets up front and doesn't get salvaged. And yes I have a collection of my own private stuff too. Oh and O don't go stupid and think every old car is made out gold.No family heirlooms around here.I sell parts and whole rigs CHEAP.If your on my lot and looking around ,you are broke and needing something that won't kill you in price. Some guys sell classic car parts like they're the only ones that have them. I sold a guy a set of four near perfect doors for a 53 Chevrolet sedan for $25 a door complete. Then bought the front clip for $150. Yeah they're rare but I want repeat business and deal people fair.I love the videos and the work you do saving good serviceable rigs. Some can't be saved but the parts can save others.I crush out empty hauls which usually theirs nothing left but a top or firewall. I sell the frames to. Nothing wasted around here.

Gotta love the '59 Scayne! That excellent dash, those sweeping fins. The whole GM '59 lineup was a real eye opener, so revolutionarily styled. I remember seeing these cars at a local dealer when they were first released for sale. My nine year old eyes could not believe cars could be so beautiful, so rocket shippy, so fast looking! Just finished watching this series. Love the way you guys did the car! Made it look good, but not "too" good. It looks like a car of that vintage should look. A little TLC on the interior and it will be good for another 50+ years. I absolutely adore the 1959 Chevy with its teardrop tail lights and those horizontal fins. Truly one of the best looking rear end treatments on any car before or since. I also notice how it vaguely resembles a bowtie...kind of. Great car! I would not be ashamed to drive it.

Cheers! Yeah, the girls make the vids even better than they already are! And although I have enjoyed all the builds so far, this is my favorite one. Sure the car is great (even though it is said here in the states, that the '59 is the year Chevy "jumped the shark" lol...at the time people thought the rear finnage was way too radical but as you know it became more popular later on), but I really like how you go more into some detail on this one. It seems this one was the most screwed up mess that you have taken on so far...yet you still got her into shape! 5 stars.

Great video! I dragged a four door '59 Biscayne from a farmer's field back in the mid Seventies. Toasted, stripped, and a basic model, back then it wasn't worth much. We cut it up for scrap. Ours was a "basic black" model.

Nice 3 part video! The first new car I ever drove was one exactly like this one including the color and the interior. My sister bought it new a couple of days after they tore the paper off of the showroom windows so people could see the new models. Straight six, 3 speed manual, radio, heater and black wall tires. $1995 no trade to drive it off the lot. Brings back memories. Thanks!

***** Hey, thanks for the note! Don't get to hear from a lot of people that drove one when they were new! Interesting how exact this one is to her old one. Sometimes people forget that most of the cars people bought weren't the coupes or convertibles with big v8s; it was these low-end sedans that made up the bulk of the run. I don't mind saving these because you never see them; they tend to get used for parts so they're all gone.

Great 3 part video. I watched a few times and shared them with my son. It's good to see old beaters being brought back to life on the cheap, as opposed to shows with seemingly unlimited budgets. Back in the day I was into old 60's and 70's Mopars, but for some odd reason, we now have a driveway full of mostly Chevy 4x4's.- '92 Suburban 4x4 (retired fire dept, now sweet daily driver) '85 Suburban lifted 4x4 (american truck, money pit, but can be daily driven as rat rod, fun off road) '81 Blazer (free gift, body totally rotten but drives well, took 2nd in super stock in past local mud bog) '93 Cherokee 4x4 (free gift, insurance write off, got mangled doors to open and close, trimmed fenders, big tires, off road only. nasty little rig) And we recently picked up a '39 Buick Eight junk yard hulk (originally from Alberta, we're in Manitoba), which I plan on mounting on another chassis, possibly the Blazer. Low buck tinkering rules.
